If the old man just slandered them for beating him up, maybe they could explain that he was old and confused, but now he slandered them as thieves in front of the whole city and planned to take their luggage and money for himself. The old man was obviously a liar. However, An Yuan had an idea of how to deal with the old man. They were young and strong and had excellent martial arts, then again, he didn’t want to deal with an old man that way. The reason he turned and left was that he didn’t want to get into trouble. 

However, Han Changsheng held onto An Yuan, confusing him. 

In a low voice, Han Changsheng said, “We’ve been sent here. First, we should take him to see the doctor to make sure that he is pretending to be sick. We will have a clear conscience. We can buy a good horse before we go. If we leave now, we won’t make it clear, others will think we left with a guilty heart.” 

An Yuan frowned. “This…” He felt what Han Changsheng said was reasonable, but he was still somewhat angry. 

After An Yuan showed off his martial arts and revealed his identity, no one dared to step forward. After all, An Yuan and his elder martial brother Li Jiulong were the mighty figures that no-one dared approach these days. Seeing this, the old man’s eyes turned stealthy, like he was making wicked plans. However, he didn’t speak for the time being. He just held the saddle and refused to dismount.

An Yuan didn’t want to, but Han Changsheng took him by the hand. He was startled but obediently followed.

Han Changsheng really didn’t care about the old man. This old man would flip the sky, and for what? Scam his way into more money? The two arrived at the hospital and asked the doctor to diagnose and treat the old man. 

The doctor took the old man’s pulse, then stroked his beard and said, “The old man is in good health, but his meridians are a little bit weird. It seems strange, but it doesn’t matter. I will prescribe some medicine for him to recuperate.” 

Now that he reached that point, An Yuan took some stray silver from his body and gave it to the old man. Coldly, he said, “Old man, take this money to cure your illness and go home. If you have any difficulties in your family, tell them straight away. However, it’s really disrespectful of you to cheat people out of their money and deceive them this way. I hope you will not do this again in the future.” 

The old man’s acting was really good. His expression a mix of scared and confused, he said, “What are you talking about?!” 

An Yuan didn’t bother telling him twice and turned to leave the hospital. Han Changsheng hurried to catch up. 

“Let’s buy two horses. It’s not too late right now. Should we continue on our way or stay in this town for a night?” 

An Yuan said, “Let’s keep going. It doesn’t matter if we sleep in the wild at night.” Because of the commotion the old man caused, his identity was exposed. It would cause them a lot more trouble to stay, so it was better to leave early.

Now that they had entered the city, there was no reason to go back. Han Changsheng’s plan was completed, and he was thrilled. He didn’t want to argue with the old man anymore. He took An Yuan to find somewhere to buy horses. The only place in this small town where horses could be exchanged and purchased was the post station. It wasn’t far from Jiuxian Valley, so there were many martial artists in the city who were eager to make their way in the world hanging around. When they arrived at the station, it was crowded with people and horses were in short supply. All the good horses had been taken, leaving only weak, sickly animals. 

Looking at the bustling crowd before him, Han Changsheng really wanted to take out his sword and grab their horse back. However, An Yuan stood at his side, so he could only continue to act like a gentleman. Staying with An Yuan for almost a year, his mind was almost assimilated to the right way of the Wulin in order to restrain himself. He would even subconsciously give a few copper coins whenever he saw a beggar in the streets. Han Changsheng sighed and shed tears to the moon for more nights than he knew. He deeply felt that he could never be a perfect leader of the demonic cult. However, the demonic cult’s life would end in a few years, and at this point, it didn’t matter. 

Some nearby people who had seen the commotion at the city’s gates recognized An Yuan. Although An Yuan had explained the misunderstanding, they were still hostile to him and Han Changsheng. If they observed their expressions closely, the main component of their hostility was jealousy. 

An Yuan, himself, didn’t understand, but Han Changsheng guessed it——the news of An Yuan’s destruction of the Ying Yue Sect had already spread there! Bahahaha, his plan was really going right!

The crowd bustled, and suddenly they heard a strange cry behind them. Han Changsheng and An Yuan looked back and saw the smelly old man following them. He pointed his finger at them, babbling his strange cries. 

“It’s them!” The old man cried, “Get them! Don’t let them run!” 

Han Changsheng was so angry he wanted to laugh. Because he was in a good mood, he planned to let the damn old man off, because the old man didn’t know what was good for him and still pursued them. Did he refuse to give up?

An Yuan stepped forward, about to open his mouth when he heard the old man say, “The man in the straw hat is Huangfu Fengxuan Xichen, and the one next to him is a devil! Huangfu colluded with the people of the demonic cult!” 

With those words, An Yuan froze in place. The noisy street fell completely silent. Everyone’s eyes focused on the old man. 

Han Changsheng’s eyes widened in surprise! How could it be, how did this old man know?! He wore Luo Xin’s face, and Luo Xin rarely left Xiushan. No one should know him outside of the mountain where the demonic cult lived. Who was this old man?!

An Yuan’s heart was in a mess for a moment. Han Changsheng was a member of the demonic cult. He had known it for a long time. Han Changsheng gasped! When did the old man go through his pack, he didn’t even notice it! It must’ve been on the road when he only paid attention to An Yuan and didn’t take the old man seriously. However, he secretly watched and saluted. The flare indeed had red signal smoke, but it looked no different from ordinary incense. No one else could see it, and even An Yuan didn’t suspect it after seeing it. The demonic cult had many external forces in the area, such as in the Yanxi Villa, Wan Ai Gu, as well as the newest addition, Fufeng Stronghold. When the Tianning Cult members worked abroad, it was hard to avoid that they relied on the flare to spread word when they needed help. The old man actually recognized it. Although he didn’t know who he was, at least he wasn’t some simple, stinky, old man that cheated others of their money!

Everyone started speaking, one after the other. They stared at Han Changsheng and coaxed, “Hurry! Right now! If he dares not ignite it, then it means he’s a member of the demonic cult!” 

Han Changsheng said, “Fine, I will ignite it!” 

From beginning to end, An Yuan remained silent. 

Han Changsheng opened his package, took out the flare, and placed it openly. No one noticed that when he took the flare, he secretly pinched off the upper part with his nails. Just as he spoke, the sound of a horse’s hooves came from not far off and a team rushed over.

After a while, a group of men and horses arrived. They were a group of people dressed in black and barring sabers. They stopped their horses in front of Han Changsheng and the others, then jumped off their horses one after the other and looked at the crowd with hostile eyes. Then, they bowed down to Han Changsheng, one after the next. “My lord. The leader called the subordinates here. What’s the matter?” 

Han Changsheng was stunned.
