Everyday I Get up to See the Villain Stealing the Show 95

After they gave the horse to the old man to ride, Han Changsheng and An Yuan led the horse one after the other towards the town. The road in the forest was silent. At the time when the autumn was high and fresh, the whole forest seemed to be covered in a red veil. Withered leaves fell like rain, in contrast to the dried grass, and dotted the sky like stars of brilliant red.

Had it not been for the sick old man groaning and the haunting scene of finding him at all, it would’ve been romantic for Han Changsheng to stroll along this path with An Yuan.

They walked for a long time. Looking at the map, the town shouldn’t have been far off. They estimated it would take more than half an hour at their current speed.

“Old man, hold on for a while,” An Yuan comforted him, “Drink some hot water.”

The old man slapped An Yuan’s hand and said, “Oh, oh… I know to ask for hot water… You made me like this. Do you want to get me off with just a little hot water?”

It stunned Han Changsheng and An Yuan. What the old man said, it didn’t sound right?

An Yuan asked, “What did you say, old man?”

The old man clutched his chest and said, “You rascals hit this old man on horseback… Oh, my whole body aches everywhere… You still want to deny it.”

An Yuan and Han Changsheng looked at each other, dumbfounded. They picked up the old man from the roadside. When they saw him, he was already dying on the ground. So now he claimed they hit him?

An Yuan frowned tightly and asked, “Old man, are you confused? We only found that you were unwell. We’re taking you to a doctor.”

The old man said, “So, you want to deny it! Don’t think that this old man’s cheap life is worthless. I have three children in my family to support! You knocked me into this. You don’t know what is good or bad. You have to pay me ten silver taels!”

Han Changsheng understood. The old man was pretending to be sick as a form of entrapment.

An Yuan was quite angry when the old man stopped groaning and scolded them. Suddenly, he grabbed the old man’s hand and took his pulse. After their hands met, his face grew solemn and his tone became blunt. “Old man, your pulse is calm. There is nothing wrong with you. You aren’t pretending to be sick to deceive us, are you?”

The old man grabbed his sleeve and said, “You really want to deny it! We must go into the city to find someone to judge. You two young men are so shameless!”

Immediately angry, An Yuan withdrew his arm and coldly said, “Old man, we have something to do. We have no time to play with you.” He raised his arms to lift the old man from the horse. “You’d better go to the city by yourself, old man. Let’s go back.”

The old man grabbed the horse’s rein and refused to let go, kicking An Yuan in the process. “Dream on! You two little beasts, I wouldn’t even let you go in death!”

Normally, Han Changsheng would drag the stinky old man off the horse without saying a word and beat him so bloody the flowers would be dyed red. But, as soon as he heard An Yuan was going to turn back, he immediately panicked and stepped forward to pull An Yuan away. The old man kicked him with his feet, but he only dusted away the prints left behind. He wasn’t in the mood to care.

“That’s not okay.” Han Changsheng pretended to be righteous. “It does matter if this old man… if this old man is pretending to be sick? You can see that his hair and beard are white. He’s so old, maybe something really is wrong? Leaving him in the wilderness, it will take more than half an hour to walk to the town. What if he can’t get there or something happens on the way? Also, he may not be bad-hearted, but just confused. It’ll be fine soon.”

An Yuan was startled. “What do you mean?”

Han Changsheng said, “We are good people. Let’s finish this. First, we have to bring him to the city, then let a doctor see him. It’s all right, let’s try to have some peace of mind!”

An Yuan thought for a moment, then nodded. “What you said makes sense, but I didn’t think about it well.”

The old man calculated a plan with a stern look on his face. “As soon as I enter the city, I will let everyone know that you two little beasts hit someone and still want to renege on a debt! Let everyone judge and make a name for you!”

Han Changsheng couldn’t wait to punch in the old man’s teeth, so he couldn’t talk nonsense anymore. He was afraid that An Yuan would be annoyed and repentant, so he pretended to patiently coax him, “Okay, okay, we’ll find someone to judge, we won’t renege on a debt. In short, your body is important. Let’s go to the city.”

An Yuan shook his head. Although he was dissatisfied, he said nothing more.

The old man snorted proudly, then groaned and pretended to be weak.

Han Changsheng walked behind the group, and while no one noticed, he waved his fist at the stinky old man. The old man was really stupid. If they killed the old man, no one would know. That was to say, today this sect leader had other purposes, so the old man was lucky!

To quickly get rid of the trouble, An Yuan and Han Changsheng picked up the pace and soon arrived at the town.

As soon as they entered the city gate and walked onto the street, the old man suddenly felt no pain in his waist and legs. He straightened up and shouted, “Come on! Catch the thief!”

Neither Han Changsheng nor An Yuan knew what he was doing. They were dumbfounded.

When the people on the streets heard the commotion, they cast their gazes over. Suddenly, the three of them were the center of attention.

The old man grabbed Han Changsheng’s shoulder with one hand and An Yuan’s hat in the other. He shouted, “Help! These thieves are holding me up, trying to take my horse and money!”

An Yuan was so surprised that his jaw dropped, and he couldn’t close it. Han Changsheng glared at him. Hey, the stinky old man was still energetic!

Because the small town was so close to the Jiuxian Valley, there weren’t many well known martial artists. When they heard a thief could be caught, their eyes flashed green because they wanted to show off. In a short while, the people who witnessed their arrival rushed to surround Han Changsheng and An Yuan.

An Yuan protected his straw hat and said, “You old man, why are you so full of lies and disrespect?!”

The old man turned a deaf ear to what he said and kept yelling, “Help! Somebody! Catch the thief!”

In a short moment, Han Changsheng’s mind turned a few times. He wanted to trick An Yuan into taking this road, but he didn’t expect to get into any trouble. If An Yuan wasn’t present, he would’ve beaten up the old man and given him some itching powder and diarrhea pills as a reward. It didn’t matter what the other people thought of him, he didn’t care at all. However, An Yuan was a very feathery chicken. No matter how angry he was, he wouldn’t take revenge on others. At present, he could only bite the bullet and pretend to be innocent.

“You bastards, let go of that old man!” A sturdy man rushed out with a hatchet in his hand.

Han Changsheng looked down at the hand on his shoulder——Let go of who?!

An Yuan had already broken away from the old man. He scolded, “Old man if you cannot accept our kindness, why do you do this? “Turning to the onlookers, he explained, “We saved this old man outside the city. We are not villains. There is a misunderstanding here.”

“He talks nonsense!” The old man pointed at An Yuan and cried, “This guy said he was a devil, so he covers his face and refuses to see anyone!”

An Yuan glared at the man through the veil. He covered his face purely to avoid trouble, and the old man had simply lied.

“Well, devil, eat my hatchet!” The sturdy man rushed forward regardless of the facts.

The other party already began to fight. An Yuan couldn’t be slaughtered, so he had to draw out his sword and deal with it.

Han Changsheng just stood aside and watched coldly. As soon as the sturdy man started moving his hands, his mediocre hatchet skills were revealed. An Yuan was killing a chicken with a knife meant for a bull, no need to mention his own actions. What’s more, he learned too many lessons. When An Yuan took action in the future, it was better for him to watch the excitement, otherwise, he would get into trouble if he wasn’t careful.

Seeing that the man was strong and powerful, he swung his hatchet into the wind, but it was just a more frightening pose. An Yuan had no intention to fight him, but with one move, he jumped and stepped on the hatchet and held it under his foot.

The sturdy man was taken aback. He didn’t expect An Yuan to be so good. He abandoned the hatchet and backed away.

However, there were a lot of other troubles remaining, even after dealing with one. Seeing that An Yuan was highly skilled in martial arts, they believed the rumor that he was a devil and drew their swords to surround him. They besieged An Yuan, but he knew what to do. He walked away, passing one or two moves with each person, but he didn’t hurt anyone. He just took the weapon from his opponent’s hand or sealed their acupoints and moved on.

In a flash, An Yuan returned to Han Changsheng’s side——he’d solved the mess of all the people who rushed up to fight them!

“I repeat, I have no intention of hurting anyone, nor am I a thief or a wicked person. We saved this old man outside the city. He… he is old and talks gibberish and cannot be trusted. If I really wanted to harm him, I could have done so outside the city. Why bother bringing him here!” To avoid any more trouble, An Yuan reached back and removed the veil on his straw hat.

Suddenly, a cold exclamation came from all around.

“Good… So Handsome…”

“This person is… Huangfu An Yuan!”

There were a lot of discussions. An Yuan kindly fed the white-eyed wolf, feeling completely lost. The horse was gone, so he picked up his luggage and dragged Han Changsheng out. Han Changsheng saw that the direction he was walking in turned out to be the gate they entered. This was the rhythm of turning back. Suddenly anxious, he grabbed An Yuan. “Hold on!”
