Everyday I Get up to See the Villain Stealing the Show 91

The middle-aged man said, “Since you’ve caught me, you are welcome to kill me. I only ask one final request of you. Don’t hurt the animals. Let them return to the mountains.”

The middle-aged man’s flute had been destroyed, so he could no longer manipulate the birds of prey through its melody. Seeing their master being controlled, the animals stepped forward to surround Han Changsheng and the others, but they didn’t launch an attack. The grey wolves crawled on the ground, whining in their throats, as if pleading for their master. Falcons circled low in the sky, then fell on the middle-aged man’s shoulders to stand with their master. Even the tigers and leopards who were close to Han Changsheng gently bit his trouser legs and pulled back, hoping he would let their master go.

Seeing that the animals were so human in nature, Han Changsheng and An Yuan couldn’t help but feel a little moved.

“Bang!” A stone flew from between Hua Xiaoshuang’s fingers, knocking out a leopard.

His heart aching, the middle-aged man let out an angry cry, “Stop!”

The corners of Hua Xiaoshuang’s mouth curled into a smile. The beasts were attacking the people of the Yunxiao Sect. However, after An Yuan killed a monkey, the man changed his tune and let the animals besiege An Yuan. It showed that he treasured his animals very much. Hua Xiaoshuang didn’t know that when Han Changsheng and An Yuan first met him, others almost crippled his arm because of a horse. However, with the events that just occurred plus his current reaction, it was clear that the lives of animals were more important to him than human lives. Since there were martial arts maniacs who regarded swords as more important than their own lives, this person was probably a “beast maniac”.

Hua Xiaoshuang said, “You are not qualified to negotiate terms with us. I have never eaten wolf or leopard meat. After I kill you, will these guys be enough to last me for a month? It’s a pity that you kept them sleek.”

Irritated by Hua Xiaoshuang, the middle-aged man roared. He wanted to jump at him, but Han Changsheng kicked him to the ground and pressed his sword further against his neck.

An Yuan frowned slightly and looked at  Hua Xiaoshuang. He knew in his heart that Hua Xiaoshuang was using an aggressive method of motivating him, and he was afraid that he was trying to get something out of the middle-aged man’s mouth. However, his approach made An Yuan uncomfortable. This kind of behavior was really in line with that of the demonic cult. Before that, he didn’t think that Hua Xiaoshuang had the demonic cult’s demeanor. Hua Xiaosa said that they were all forced to act that way by a bad elder brother.

Hua Xiaoshuang stepped forward and squatted in front of the middle-aged man. With a smile, he said, “If you want to discuss the terms, just answer a few questions. Are you from the Ying Yue Sect?”

The middle-aged man’s face was sad and angry, but he still replied honestly, “Yes…”

Again, Hua Xiaoshuang asked, “Why did you attack the Yunxiao Sect late at night?”

The middle-aged man said, “They wanted to attack the Ying Yue Sect. The master ordered me to assassinate them.”

An Yuan interjected, “Since you like these animals so much, why do you use them to kill people? When you use these animals to kill, it clearly puts them in a painful position.”

The middle-aged man glared at him, unwilling to answer An Yuan’s question. He had a grudge against An Yuan for killing his monkey.

Han Changsheng glared back. “Speak!”

The middle-aged man was more submissive to Han Changsheng. After a bout of silence, he smiled bitterly. “I am also desperate.”

Han Changsheng frowned. “Why are you desperate?”

The middle-aged man sighed, then spoke slowly. His name was Luo Ni. He had been gifted since childhood and was very close to animals. When he grew up, he could understand the thoughts of animals through their actions and calls. Later, he learned to play the flute and how to use it to convey his meaning to the animals. Because of these things, he became a beast maniac.

He couldn’t bear to watch animals being slaughtered. Whether it was domestic chickens, ducks, pigs, or wild jackals, tigers, and leopards, he often helped them. As time went on, his wealth began to dissipate. When he was desperate, the people of the Ying Yue Sect found him. Because he was able to tame birds of prey, the Ying Yue Sect took him in and took advantage of his ability. They asked him to kill people in exchange for money and shelter.

Han Changsheng bent down and touched the leopard that was pulling his trouser legs. He motioned for it to let go because if it pulled them again, his pants would fall off! The leopard, who was supposed to be ferocious and unusual, was docile under Han Changsheng’s hand. He rubbed his face into Han Changsheng’s palm and purred like a giant cat.

Luo Ni looked at Han Changsheng incredulously, “You can also speak the animal language?”

Han Changsheng rose and coldly said, “No.”

Luo Ni smiled awkwardly. “He likes you very much… He’s not that well behaved when he’s with me.”

Han Changsheng couldn’t help but think of Gu Mingxiao’s cats and the little Stinky Egg. Why were these animals so close to him? But it was just the case of cats, kittens, and their bigger relatives. When he was a child, he was chased by a mad dog halfway up a mountain.

Han Changsheng said, “You use these beasts to kill for you and dare to say that it is for them. That is pompous of you. These animals are really willing to be your weapons? Since you can speak the language of beasts, you should ask them what they think!” He was originally not a nosy person. Not to mention animals, he didn’t like to bother with human affairs. Before An Yuan stabbed the monkey, he could clearly see that the monkey’s actions were hesitant. Even now, the leopard at his feet made him feel compassionate.

He didn’t know if the leopard understood his words, but it issued a low, sad cry.

Luo Ni was shocked again. After a moment, two lines of turbid tears fell from his eyes.  “As soon as I walked this path, I couldn’t look back. I was originally not an underling of the Ying Yue Sect. But, if I betrayed them, they would hurt my children…”

Han Changsheng, An Yuan, and Hua Xiaoshuang exchanged glances.

An Yuan asked, “If we can destroy the Ying Yue Sect, will you help us?”

Surprised, Luo Ni asked, “You? Destroy the Ying Yue Sect? How many of you are there?”

Han Changsheng said, “Just the three of us.”

Luo Ni couldn’t believe it. “With the three of you, you want to attack the Ying Yue Sect? Do you know how many people have wanted to attack the Ying Yue Sect since the Wulin Conference? Just like the dozen or so people who were sent by the Yunxiao Sect, if not for you guys, they might have lost their lives here tonight.”

Han Changsheng didn’t take it seriously. “Don’t compare us with the Yunxiao Sect’s idiots.” He was a man with a villainous halo, blessed with golden hands!

Luo Ni was silent.

Hua Xiaoshuang squatted and said, “Don’t talk nonsense. Just tell us how many people there are in the Ying Yue Sect? Where are they now?”

Luo Ni said, “The Ying Yue Sect is a very large organization. If you count the lowest ranked hitmens, there are hundreds of people.”

Han Changsheng had a headache and frowned. It would be too much trouble to kill hundreds of people at once. If it was to complete Lu Honghua’s task, in fact, it was enough to kill a few core elements of the Ying Yue Sect so that the hitman organization would dissolve without a leader.  Han Changsheng asked, “Who is at the core of the Ying Yue Sect?”

With great cooperation, Luo Ni explained, “All the hitmen under the Ying Yue Sect’s leader are divided into three levels. There are ten hitmen at the first level who directly obey the sect leader and are also the core of the Ying Yue Sect. They are all masters. There are thirty second-level hitmen. These thirty people are subordinate to the first-level hitmen, and their martial arts are very strong. There are over one hundred third-level hitmen. They have relatively weak martial arts, and they are very mobile. I’m afraid that a few will die after a mission, and in a few days, there will be new people to make up for it. Those people are under the orders of the second-level hitmen. They are not entitled to see those at the core.”

Hua Xiaoshuang asked, “What level are you?”

Luo Ni looked embarrassed. “I’m the tenth person of the first level. I stay out of the crowd on most days. I’m only responsible for raising animals and killing people.”

Han Changsheng touched his chin. “So, as long as the Ying Yue Sect’s leader and the first-level hitmen are dead, the Ying Yue Sect is finished?”

Luo Ni looked at him in horror. “Although you aren’t weak in martial arts, none of the first-level hitmen are ordinary people. How do you plan to use just a few allies to beat a large number of enemies?”

Han Changsheng was silent, then spoke to Hua Xiaoshuang and An Yuan. “Let’s take him back to find a place to rest, then we can discuss the details.”

Hua Xiaoshuang and An Yuan had no thoughts on the matter.

As Hua Xiaoshuang stepped forward to tie up Luo Ni, An Yuan leaned into Han Changsheng’s ear and whispered, “Is this person really credible?”

Han Changsheng replied, “There are only animals in his eyes, not people. It’s not strange to go back to the Ying Yue Sect. As far as credibility goes, he’s not credible, we will only know for sure if we bring him back and ask carefully.”

An Yuan had nothing to say.

Once Hua Xiaoshuang finished tying up Luo Ni, the three of them threw him onto a horse. Han Changsheng said, “I’ll watch him. I have something to ask him.”

Hua Xiaoshuang led the horse to Han Changsheng.

Han Changsheng took Luo Ni and rode out first. When Hua Xiaoshuang got on his horse and was about to leave, An Yuan suddenly asked, “Where is your Longyin sword? You haven’t used the sword since you left Kunlun Mountain.”

It stunned Hua Xiaoshuang. Han Changsheng had given the Longyin sword to the little stinky egg, and Hua Xiaoshuang didn’t even know what the Longyin sword was. He could always come up with a hundred excuses for this problem, but when he saw the suspicion in An Yuan’s eyes, he just laughed and didn’t explain. “Do you recognize people or their swords?”

An Yuan was startled. “What?”

Hua Xiaoshuang didn’t pay attention to him anymore. He kicked the horse’s belly, then rode after Han Changsheng.

Finally caught up! I too want a Lynx and a leopard. Now I wonder why they behave as such. Is it his ‘aura of the king’ or what it ws called? Or is there another reason? Or is it just the fact that every cat seems to inexplicably love him? Wait … when every cat loves him, does that have something to do with that aura in the first place?????   …. You say that after you wanted to use them to kill people?   That scene really is quite moving QAQ HXS, why???   Well I mean, his thought process… Read more »
