Everyday I Get up to See the Villain Stealing the Show 85

After packing his bags, An Yuan went down Kunlun Mountain.

Suddenly, he stopped his horse—just ahead of him, another horse stood beside a tree. Not far off, his rider laid on the ground as if he had fallen.

Stunned, An Yuan jumped off his horse. He saw that the man was cold and pale, but still handsome. However, he wasn’t easy to reach. He called, “Brother? Are you alright, brother?”

The man seemed to have passed out. An Yuan called twice, but he didn’t respond. After bending down to help him up, An Yuan thought of something. Reaching out, he tried to touch behind the man’s ear…

“Ah!”

The comatose man woke just before An Yuan’s hand touched his ear. Nervously holding his sword, he looked at An Yuan in his straw hat. “What is this place? Who are you? Why don’t you show your true face?”

An Yuan withdrew his hand. “This is the foot of Kunlun Mountain, where you fainted.”

The man was at a loss for a while, then his eyes gradually cleared. “Ah… Yes, I remember. The dog thief Yue Peng has been subjugated. I wanted to go to the Ying Yue Sect to kill those murderers and avenge my good friends. I just fought someone on the road. I was exhausted, so I slept here for a while.”

When An Yuan heard him mention Yue Peng, it stunned him. “Are you with Yue Peng?”

“Yue Peng and I are enemies. That scum hired an assassin from the Ying Yue Sect on my good friend and killed his entire family. Yue Peng also stole the script he worked on all his life.”

Arching his hand, An Yuan asked, “Dare I ask your name?”

The man said, “My name is Luo Weiwu!”

An Yuan: “…”

Luo Weiwu held out his hand for him to shake. “What’s the matter with you? Why are you distracted?”

An Yuan regained his consciousness and drew a puff of air from the corner of his mouth. “It’s nothing, I just remember there seemed to be a very popular naming scheme lately.”

Luo Weiwu was none other than Han Changsheng. Knowing that An Yuan would go down the mountain from this road, he put on his makeup and arrived in time to pretend to be unconscious for An Yuan. He didn’t expect that An Yuan had learned how to uncover his disguises. The first thing he did was check if he was wearing a mask, which made him wake up in a hurry.

Han Changsheng said, “The Ying Yue Sect is the biggest hitman organization in the world, and Yue Peng is closely related to them. He’s killed many people in recent years. Many times, he hadn’t even shown up in person. That is to say, he paid for the Ying Yue Sect’s hitmen to kill for him.” Liu Xiaoqi’s Xiu Daomen had been slaughtered by the Ying Yue Sect’s hitmen.

Shocked, An Yuan murmured, “So it is…”

No wonder in the years he was in Yuehua Sect, when Yue Peng left Yuehua Mountain, he was never gone for very long periods. It would’ve been difficult to kill so many people. He heard Han Changsheng say at the Wulin Conference that Yue Peng had done a lot of harm in those past fifteen years. Those sects were thousands of miles away from Yuehua Mountain, and it took a month to go back and forth. When could Yue Peng kill so many people? After hearing this, he understood that Yue Peng had paid hitmen to kill for him.

“What is it?” Han Changsheng pretended, “Do you know Yue Peng, too?”

Before An Yuan could answer, something surprised Han Changsheng. “You are wearing a straw hat veil! Are you his apprentice who attacked Yue Peng at the Wulin Assembly?” An Yuan hadn’t yet come back to himself, and with lightning speed, Han Changsheng pulled the hat off An Yuan’s head. “You are, indeed!”

An Yuan didn’t get angry. He just asked, “Are you going to the Ying Yue alone for revenge?”

Han Changsheng said, “Yes. I have many friends, but my friends have nothing to do with it. I don’t want to implicate them. Unless someone and I share the same hatred, it’s impossible to seek revenge together.”

An Yuan looked hesitant. Although his father wasn’t murdered by the hitmen of Ying Yue, Yue Peng colluded with the Ying Yue to kill many people in recent years. His feelings for Yue Peng were very complex. On the one hand, he wanted to kill him to avenge his father’s death. On the other hand, Yue Peng raised him for many years.

An Yuan always regarded himself as a member of the Yuehua Sect. The leader of the Yuehua Sect had made mistakes, and he hoped that he’d be able to make up for these mistakes, himself. If they could get rid of the Ying Yue Sect, an organization that brought disaster to the Wulin, it would undoubtedly be a good thing for the Yuehua to accumulate virtue and eliminate the obstacles of karma.

He just happened to be confused. He was just leaving “Hua Xiaosa”, and he didn’t know where to go. However, he didn’t know who Luo Weiwu was. He didn’t know if he was trustworthy. So when he walked with him, An Yuan was worried.

Seeing An Yuan’s silence, Han Changsheng was confused. He was afraid that the enthusiasm of the invitation would arouse An Yuan’s suspicion. Therefore, he said, “I plan to find the nearest town for a day’s rest and buy supplies before leaving. What about you?”

An Yuan got up and said, “Let’s go find a place to rest.”

They rode their horses all the way to the town in silence. As they did, An Yuan quietly looked at the side of Han Changsheng’s face. In his heart, he was already suspicious of Luo Weiwu. What Luo Weiwu said just then seemed to be an invitation to go with him, but they didn’t know each other at all. Recently, too many strange things had occurred. First, Du Fengliu, then Luo Weiwu, and after that night, the world would evaporate… Was it possible that Luo Weiwu was Hua Xiaosa?

Han Changsheng, as if feeling a gaze on his back, silently held a cold sweat. What was the matter with An Yuan? Did he let something slip? Why did An Yuan keep staring at him?

At this time, not far away, came the sound of horses’ hooves. Someone came riding from behind. Because the Wulin Conference had just ended, many people were leaving Kunlun mountain, thus An Yuan and Han Changsheng did not pay any attention to the man behind them. The man seemed to be in a hurry, and he soon surpassed An Yuan and Han Changsheng. However, he looked back and caught Han Changsheng’s eyes. It shocked both of them. The man fiercely pulled his horse to a stop so suddenly it almost threw him from the saddle.

“Brother Luo?! Why are you here?” The man jumped down from the horse and looked at Han Changsheng incredibly.

At first, it surprised Han Changsheng. Then, he was desperate——he was the master of the Fourth Hall of the Tianning Cult. His Tianning Cult has Four Hall masters. None of them were good news, but especially this one. He just had to be Hua! Xiao! Shuang!

This was because when Han Changsheng disguised himself as Hua Xiaosa, he used Hua Xiaoshuang’s face. He taught An Yuan martial arts and slept in bed with An Yuan for several months with that face. He wore that face when he went mad from Qi deviation that night. He ate An Yuan dry and wiped him away, wearing Hua Xiaoshuang’s face!

An Yuan took a cold breath when he saw what Hua Xiaoshuang’s appearance. Then, he found that Hua Xiaoshuang paid no attention to him, and didn’t even look at him. He only looked at Han Changsheng. His face was complex and hard to describe.

Hua Xiaoshuang stared at Han Changsheng for a while. Seeing his face flush with embarrassment, he immediately showed a clear look. The whole Tianning Cult had suffered from the leader’s trickery, especially those who grew up as childhood friends with Han Changsheng. Since childhood, Han Changsheng’s superb disguising technique made him suffer countless times. He immediately guessed that the person under this face was their leader who had been gone for half a year. Sneering, Hua Xiaoshuang said, “Ah, I thought I needed to travel far and wide, only to find you this easily.”

Hua Xiaoshuang was here to find the runaway leader. Han Changsheng had not returned to Xiushan Mountain for half a year, nor did he contact the people in the cult. He saw the cult head here at this mountain but maintained aloofness and said nothing to reveal himself. Even Lu Qingqian and Lu Baibi, who had the most experience in tracking Han Changsheng, claimed they could hardly find him.

Also, he let those two tactless things go. Seeing how they still got tricked into a circle by Han Changsheng, Hua Xiaoshuang decided to go out in person to see what Han Changsheng was up to. He came to the Wulin Conference to try his luck. After all, it was a great event in the Wulin, and Han Changsheng had the temperament to join in on the fun.

However, Han Changsheng wasn’t there. He took the opportunity to inquire about the plans of the right way of the Wulin. But he came a little late and only arrived after the beginning of the Wulin Assembly. He heard about the two Yuehua disciples exposing their murderous teacher on the first day of the meeting.

Hua Xiaoshuang thought then that Han Changsheng must be the troublemaker. He just sat in on the meeting. Unexpectedly, over the next few days, Han Changsheng and An Yuan never appeared again. By the time the conference ended, he left in disappointment but bumped into them halfway down the mountain. What a coincidence.

Han Changsheng looked miserable. He secretly used the dying light of day to observe An Yuan’s reaction. As An Yuan stared at Hua Xiaoshuang, he bit his lip until it turned white.

“You…” An Yuan said the word and immediately silenced himself. He didn’t know how to open his mouth.

Hua Xiaoshuang turned his attention to An Yuan. He had heard from Lu Qingqian and Lu Baibi that Han Changsheng had been following a disciple of the Yuehua Sect recently. The disciple was very good-looking. According to Han Changsheng’s consistent disposition, he might have taken a fancy to others. At the sight of An Yuan, he was also quite surprised. He really was a good-looking man. Then, he immediately gave a suspicious look to Han Changsheng. An Yuan had to be responsible for the bastard leader’s delay.

Han Changsheng’s brain turned quickly. With a dry smile, he said, “Hua Xiaosa, is there a reason why you are looking for me? I saw you a few days ago. You were with this little brother beside me and had a big fight at the Wulin Assembly.”

Hua Xiaoshuang stared blankly, then slightly frowned. Han Changsheng had hinted obviously that he knew he wasn’t Lu Baibi and Lu Qingqian. He had heard that Han Changsheng had dressed up like him to accompany An Yuan. Half a year had passed, and he still used his face? What was the big idea?

But soon, the corner of his mouth showed a funny smile.

Han Changsheng had an alarm bell in his heart! Among the four hall masters and his pair of guardians, he was the most shocked that he came across Hua Xiaoshuang. Although the guy wasn’t good at martial arts, the missing brains of Lu Qingqian and Lu Baibi had grown on him, and no one could compare with Hua Xiaoshuang’s cleverness. Han Changsheng knew Hua Xiaoshuang all too well. When he smiled like that, he was definitely up to no good!

What would Hua Xiaoshuang be this time? A big teammate or a godlike enemy? Han Changsheng had a headache. All in all, he was in big trouble.

Translation note:

Han Changsheng says his name is Weiwu , which means “formidable”. An Yuan mentions a particular naming scheme, which relates to the fake names Han Changsheng gave him all being self-gratifying (for example, Hua Xiaosa, which more or less means “Unrestrained / Confident  flower”)

  1. The dying light of day 偷偷用余光觀察 :  the corner of one’s eyes / peripheral vision / residual light / light of the setting sun
  2. Missing brains 失的心 : Deficiency / shortcoming / hiatus of heart / intention / conscience / consideration / cleverness / tolerance. Deficiency in their intelligence.

Of course he knew. Stupid HCS. An Yuan had been tricked so many times, he would’ve known everything. He’s the protagonist after all.
Heh. Karma come so fast, huh? Let’s see how he deal with the real Hua Xiaosa.
