Everyday I Get up to See the Villain Stealing the Show 77

After breakfast, Han Changsheng began to regret that he had beat the little stinky egg so that he ran away. It had been a long time since there was an immortal for him to ask for tips. Since the little stinky egg had communicated with the Black and White Impermanence deities and spent so many years in the Yuehua Sect, he had to have known a lot. Maybe he’d know the answers to some of things Han Changsheng had been investigating.
“Alas.” Han Changsheng sighed.
An Yuan asked, “Something the matter?”
Han Changsheng came back to his thoughts and said, “I just don’t know where the little stinky egg is. I’m worried about it.”
An Yuan said, “Well, since he made it to Kunlun Mountain, he knows how to survive. He will be okay. In a few days, the Wulin Conference will officially begin. Let’s work on investigating.”
It was exactly as An Yuan said, the Wulin Conference was about to begin. People from all walks of life would get together, and it was the easiest time to investigate a case from 15 years ago. Maybe they could ask for information by running errands? When the Wulin Conference was over, those who knew anything would disperse, and it would be even more difficult to investigate.
Han Changsheng said, “Check, follow up. Don’t neglect your practice. When the Wulin Assembly officially begins, you will show your skills in the arena.” When the martial arts conference began, Han Changsheng agreed that An Yuan would go to the arena to show his strength. After learning sword techniques with Han Changsheng for such a long time, he wanted to have a good fight to test his martial arts skills. Who didn’t want to be famous and stand alone in the world?
An Yuan said, “I understand.”
After breakfast, An Yuan stayed behind to practice with his sword, while Han Changsheng went out to continue the investigation.
As soon as he stepped out of the inn, Han Changsheng saw a fox-like cat sitting on the roof opposite him. Overjoyed, he quickly opened his arms. “Little stinky egg, come here, hurry!”
The little stinky egg looked at him, then ignored him and licked the fur on his stomach.
Han Changsheng moved closer. “Little stinky egg, come down, I have something to ask you.”
People walking on the street stopped to look at Han Changsheng, then at the cat on the roof. The words “This person is pretty crazy” were written in their gazes.
The little stinky egg just wouldn’t move. In broad daylight,it would be too eye-catching for Han Changsheng to jump up to the roof to get him. He had to coax him down. “Come down, good cat, I promise not to beat you to death… No, no, no, I mean I promise not to hit you.”
The little stinky egg turned around and pointed his butt at him.
Han Changsheng was so anxious that he had an idea. Running back to the inn, he bought a baozi. Breaking the skin, he revealed the meat filling inside. “Come here, I’ll feed you something delicious!”
The little stinky egg grinned. Jumping down from the roof, he threw himself into Han Changsheng’s arms. SKillfully catching him, Han Changsheng brought him into an alley. The little stinky egg shook his body and shifted into a human figure. Pointing at the baozi in Han Changsheng’s hands, he said, “You look down on this cat immortal too much. You think a baozi is enough to buy me?”
Han Changsheng asked, “But, you still came down?”
Rolling his eyes, the little stinky egg grabbed the baozi from his hand and gnawed at it. “It’s not because of the baozi, but because of your charm! … you beat me before breakfast, boo hoo.”
“Good, well,” Han Changsheng touched his head, “I ask you, you said I have the breath of a King, what does that mean?”
The little stinky egg wolfed down the baozi and said, “I don’t know. It’s beyond description. It’s just…. It’s an aura, invisible and intangible, but I can feel it. It’s like… my kind has a demon king, and the demon king will also have that kind of Qi in his body, but your Qi is stronger than our demon king.”
Han Changsheng touched his chin and said, “Besides me, who else has this kind of thing?”
The little stinky egg shook his head.
Han Changsheng asked himself, “Could that mean Laozi is not a human?”
The little stinky egg blinked. “But, the scent on you, it does not contain that of demon, immortal, or evil Qi. No matter how you look at it, you must be a mortal. It’s the first time I felt the breath of a king in a mortal.”
Han Changsheng frowned. That morning, when he heard what the little stinky egg said about the king’s breath, he thought of several possibilities. An Yuan was the Immortal Lord who descended to the Earth. Was he also an immortal in the sky? Or, could it be that he was the demon king who was defeated by An Yuan? But, if that was the case, the Black and White Impermanence deities had no reason not to know. Now, the little stinky egg said he was a mortal. It seemed that he had nothing to do with the demon king. It was a pity. It would have been so cool to be a reincarnation of the great demon! But, if he was not the devil or the immortal, where did the king’s breath come from? Or was it simply because he had such a powerful personality?
“Do you have any more baozi?” The little stinky egg asked.
Han Changsheng grabbed the little stinky egg’s shoulder and walked away, saying, “Since you are a cat immortal, you must know a lot of things. I’ll buy you fish for lunch as I have a lot to ask you.”
When they came to a restaurant, Han Changsheng ordered three plates of fish for the little stinky egg and said, “I remember Elder Lan Fang said that you had been with him for decades. Have you been in Yuehua for decades?”
The little stinky egg grabbed the fish with his hands and gobbled it down. Spraying bits of fish as he spoke, he said, “It’s true. We like to be around people who are strong. Immortals have immortal Qi, and demons have demonic Qi. If ordinary people had stronger martial arts, their Qi would be stronger. Lan Fang, that boy had good qualifications, so I was with him before I met An Yuan.”
Hearing the little stinky egg refer to Lan Fang as “that boy”, the corners of Han Changsheng’s lips couldn’t help but twitch. The cat demon before him only looked 16-17 years old. It was hard to imagine that he’d lived for over 100 years.
Han Changsheng asked, “How did Lan Fang and Xuanji die?”
The little stinky egg said, “After old man Xuanji passed on all his skills to you, his life was exhausted. He didn’t plan to go to Yuehua Mountain, but he didn’t know what happened. Lan Fang hadn’t left the back of the mountain for many years, but suddenly wanted to go for a walk that day. He encountered old man Xuanji at the base of the mountain. He brought him back to the mountain and tried to use his internal strength to restore old man Xuanji’s life.”
“Then,” He added, “They talked a lot. Although Lan Fang only bought old man Xuanji a few more days, it was enough for them to talk about all the decades. After old man Xuanji died, Lan Fang meditated. His Qi got weaker and weaker, and then he was gone.”
Stunned, Han Changsheng asked, “What do you mean by he was gone?”
The little stinky egg shrugged his shoulders, threw the first fish bone aside, then grabbed another piece of fish. “In your human words, it means he passed away. It’s good, he still had a smile on his face before he died, and he had rich cultivation, I bet his next life will be a good one.” The little stinky egg was immortal, so he didn’t have much thought about human life and death.
Han Changsheng was speechless for a long time.
After a while, Han Changsheng said, “Well, why did Yue Peng think it was me and An Yuan who killed Xuanji and Lan Fang?”
The little stinky egg said, “Yue Peng? Yue Peng isn’t a good thing. He’s coveted the Longyin sword for a long time. Before now, the Longyin sword was the sabre of the masters of the past. That is to say, Lan Fang held it in his hand for decades and refused to pass it on.”
“Lan Fang is a man of good temperament,” He went on, “It’s fine if he likes you. But if he doesn’t, he will not relent. Even if you show warm feelings, you’d be met with a cold rebuke. Over the years, Yue Peng begged for the sword many times. Although Lan Fang didn’t want to be the sect leader, he refused to give him the Longyin sword because he didn’t like Yue Peng. He favored you and gave you the Longyin sword as soon as you got to know him.”
Han Changsheng said, “Just for the Longyin sword?” He held his cheek for a moment, but he still couldn’t imagine it. He said, “Lan Fang chose Li Jiulong as his own disciple, and Yue Peng was afraid that Li Jiulong’s martial arts would surpass his own. So, when Li Jiulong took the sword, he got jealous and worried about him threatening his position as the leader. He framed Li Jiulong and discredited his reputation. I can understand that. But, what about An Yuan? An Yuan was his favorite disciple, didn’t he want him to be his son-in-law? What did he think of this defamation of An Yuan and the destruction of his reputation?”
The little stinky egg chuckled and grabbed a piece of cloth to wipe his mouth. “Yue Peng’s business is a long story. In fact, I didn’t know the little thing wasn’t qualified and had an evil mind. Only the demons who liked to do evil would get close to him. When he went behind the mountain that day, he saw Lan Fang and Xuanji die there. At first, he was surprised, then he squatted beside their bodies for a long time. His eyes were rolling round and round. He must’ve had some bad ideas. We cat immortals have the ability to read the heart. I was curious and looked into his mind… The results were quite unexpected.”
Han Changsheng asked, “What was on his mind?”
The little stinky egg licked the oil off his lips and squinted. With a sneer, he said, “That’s a long story.”

an unexpected source of all the information MC needs to know!
thanks for the chapter!
… I honestly doubt that little troublemaker would have known anything of use. But I applaud HC’s optimism! He’s worried about the cat. Of course. That cat totally can’t take care of itself. It totally isn’t a cat demon that has destroyed all of his plans and thrown them into jeopardy. Nooo. What are you talking about? Aww, it’s kind of cute how excited An Yuan is for the training and the fights durign the conference ~ Though I do hope that they’ll be able to find some clues … Lmao, HCS sure changes his tune pretty… Read more »
Of course Yue Peng is sus. He was friends with both sect heads that were murdered in a mysterious way and his own sect is thought to be declining due to lack of talented disciples.
Yay! So glad HCS realized he needed to interrogate little stinky egg. Thanks for the chapter!
So glad to hear the two old masters were able to meet and talk in the end. I was so sad when I thought they wee murdered during their reunion. Thanks for the chapter!
