“Xiao Liu, you know Department Head Yu from Jinjiang?”

Liu Xianxian’s superior asked as he passed by. He had never paid any attention to newcomers, but all of a sudden he became friendly. Barely discernible and with a touch of envy, his gaze landed on the name card in Liu Xianxian’s hand which read “Zhen’s Plant Nursery ”. 

Everyone was aware that Yu Zhen, the little boss’ wife, was the great treasure of the Yin family. Not only did he take the seat of the little boss’ wife as soon as he showed up, but he was always escorted in and out of the place by the little boss each time he made an appearance. He was never alone and was protected so carefully that not even a drop of water could reach him.

Before the new year, Jinjiang had handed over a leisure center project for the little boss and his wife to hone their skills. The project was drawing to a close and before there was any word about what the little boss would do next, Xiangfei had arranged a high-end perfume series for the little boss’ wife. His importance could be seen at a glance.

There was also word that there was a little intern at Jinjiang who was suspected to know the little boss’ wife. Because they spoke a few words to each other, he was given an important position. Not only was he quickly granted full employee status, but he was transferred to a big project for a shopping mall. Plus, he became an assistant for Chi Nan, someone who had been poached from overseas at high expense.

On the other hand, a department head for the leisure center project who nitpicked and maliciously gossiped about Yu Zhen was sent to a branch company before the project was even wrapped up.

Everyone had begun to whisper that anyone who got into the good graces of the little boss’ wife had basically made a good name for themselves in front of the two companies’ chairman and chairwoman. However, it was a shame that the little boss’ wife was too low-key. He didn’t go to the office often, and he would always be stuck to the side of the little boss, not giving anyone the chance to approach him.

With the appearance of another person who seemed to know the little boss’ wife, everyone’s thoughts began to stir again.

Liu Xianxian was young and she was reserved when speaking with Yu Zhen. However, she was able to work in Xiangfei and could report to Qiu Feiqian’s office along with her superior, so she was by no means stupid.  

When she heard his words, her expression turned strange. Liu Xianxian tucked the business card within her hand into her other documents. She hid her surprise and misgivings, then pleasantly smiled and replied, “I was a classmate of Department Head Yu. He was very nice and took care of me.”

“Classmates… That’s right, I’d heard that you’ve also come back from abroad, and the circle of Chinese people from abroad isn’t very large…” The superior’s words were filled with both admiration and envy. He suddenly looked strangely over her from top to bottom and said, “I would advise against casually getting close to Department Head Yu. The boss’ eldest son guards his food closely and can’t bear to see unrelated staff stick to Department Head Yu. If you’re nodding acquaintances, you’d better be discreet. It’s best to stay at the stage of being nodding acquaintances.”

Those were words inspired by spiteful jealousy. Her distrust had practically bubbled to the surface, but it didn’t show on her face. She replied, “Thank you, manager, for your pointers. Um, manager, there are people waiting for documents. I’ll head off first?”

“Go ahead, go ahead.”

Her superior waved a hand and watched her leave with documents before his gaze fell on the chairwoman’s door. Then he straightened his cuffs and also left. 

In the office, Qiu Feiqian carefully opened up the box which Yu Zhen had brought over. 

The light but distinctive, astringent scent of medicine slowly spread out. Qiu Feiqian frowned as soon as she caught a whiff of it. However, after becoming more used to it, she found herself wanting to smell it more and more. She also seemed to smell something which made her feel relaxed.

After smelling the fragrance, the headache she had from the meeting seemed to slowly melt away. 

“This fragrance… en, its many layers are rich and I feel comfortable after smelling it.” She complimented it before looking carefully at the roses within the box. Immediately, she sucked in a breath and touched the abundant petals of the roses with fondness.

“Is this a new breed?” An unconscious smile appeared and she carefully pulled out a rose and examined it in detail. The head of the rose was not only larger than that of regular ones, but it also had many more layers of petals than usual. The overall shape was very elegant.

Most importantly, this color is very beautiful!

A princess lives in every woman’s heart. Although Qiu Feiqian was usually bustling around with purposeful and efficient actions, and the clothes she chose were typically cool-toned, she really liked delicate colors. Looking at those colors put her in a good mood.

“It looks good! The fade to pink is soft and elegant! Xiao Zhen, did you really breed this yourself?”

Yu Zhen smiled at her happiness. He nodded and replied, “It’s not been long since I bred it, so there aren’t many mature plants. That’s why I’ve only cut a few roses for you. If you like it, I’ll go back and move a pot of this rosebush over.”

The flower had been cross-bred with medicinal herbs so it would do the body good to smell the flower’s fragrance over a long period of time. Recently, Yu Zhen had been planning to decorate the Yin family members’ personal offices to help them nourish their health.

Qiu Feiqian was moved by Yu Zhen’s words. She touched the petal of the flower in her hand, considered Yu Zhen’s offer, then shook her head. “No, it’s not easy for you to breed a new pot of flowers. Mom would appreciate its beauty, but even if you move a pot over, I wouldn’t know how to take care of it. I might ruin the plant.”

“It’s no problem, the plant is easy to take care of. It will be enough if you regularly water it and give it some sun. I have a few pots, so it wouldn’t affect anything if I bring a pot over. And I won’t be leaving the plant here forever. After the flower has withered, it won’t look very good, so I’ll bring it back then.”

The flowers in the dimensional pot could be in bloom at all times, but the flowers outside of the pot shouldn’t be. So that the strange phenomenon of the plants wouldn’t be exposed, Yu Zhen needed to regularly take the plants back for “care” as a cover-up. 

After hearing Yu Zhen’s explanation, Qiu Feiqian could no longer go against her fondness for the roses. She agreed to have Yu Zhen move a pot of the flowers over and then praised him again. It was only after Yu Zhen had become embarrassed from all the praise that she turned back to see what other gifts were in the box.

Without noticing it, half an hour had passed with Qiu Feiqian admiring and praising each of the gifts she received. She had even intended to brew a pot of rose tea, but fortunately, Yin Hexiang called them, otherwise they would waste the whole afternoon just looking over the gifts. 

Qiu Feiqian was dissatisfied about not being able to try the tea. Before they left, she used a ribbon to tie the roses together and then gathered them into her arms. She also carried the perfumes in a little pouch and tossed her actual bag at Yin Yan. After repeatedly confirming that everything was sufficiently eye-catching, an aloof smile appeared on her face and she stepped through her office door carrying her gifts. 

As soon as she stepped into the common office area, a senior director appointed by Qiu Feiqian joked, “Oh. The flowers in the Chairwoman’s arms look very good. Who sent them? Could it be a gift from the heart of our Chairman Yin?” 

The question scratched at her heart. Qiu Feiqian glanced at her and shifted the flowers to one side, replying, “Hexiang wouldn’t send such a considerate gift. These flowers are from my family’s Xiao Zhen. These roses look nice, right? They were personally bred by him. And these perfumes were all personally made by him. He said it’s for Mother’s Day. Ai, look at how many things there are. It’s tough for a man to make all these for me. Alright, alright, I won’t chat anymore. I’m taking the children out for a meal. You guys should also go eat. Move along, move along.” 

When the director heard her words, she playfully heckled her. Seeing that Qiu Feiqian was in a good mood, others also joined in. Qiu Feiqian laughed more brightly and insincerely scolded them. Then she walked to the elevator in high spirits. 

Yu Zhen hadn’t yet seen this type of “showing off” spectacle. Everyone’s teasing turned his face red. In his embarrassment, he quietly retreated behind Yin Yan’s back and tried to reduce any sense of his existence. 

However, Qiu Feiqian didn’t allow him to hide. She simply pulled him to her side and used the excuse of “helping to carry the perfumes” to show off.   

They left the headquarters of Xiangfei in a parade. Before Yin Yan had driven them away from the headquarters’ grounds, the news that the little boss’ wife gifted the chairwoman a new breed of roses and handmade perfume had spread throughout the company. 

After hearing her colleagues’ gossip, Liu Xianxian made her way to the tearoom and fished out Yu Zhen’s business card. There was sadness in her eyes, but it also held some relief.  

It turns out that Senior Yu Zhen is the mysterious little boss’ wife…She thought of the youth in her memories whose head was always lowered and whose presence was weak. Her shoulders drooped. 

It looks like Senior Yu Zhen has lived well these past few years. His spouse really loves him… That’s good. That’s good. Her grip on the business card tightened, and although she wanted to cry a little, she was also relieved. 

A good person should have a good life. Senior Yu Zhen’s small, gentle and considerate acts were hidden by his ordinary appearance. But now they must be seen and treasured. 

Xiangfei’s headquarters and Jinjiang’s building weren’t far apart so they soon arrived. 

The family met in the parking lot. Although Qiu Feiqian had taken up the day’s main stage, it was Father’s Day, so everyone let Yin Hexiang choose the place for dinner. 

Yin Hexiang pretended not to see his children’s partiality. Without trouble, he chose Qiui Feiqian’s favorite restaurant and made her even happier. 

The family bustled with noise and excitement throughout their meal. After finishing their meals, Yin Hexiang and Qiu Feiqian exchanged looks. When they looked back at Yu Zhen, who was quietly saying something to Yin Yan, the couple quietened. Yin Hexiang coughed and said, “So, Xiao Zhen-ah, a few days ago, we said we would look into something for you. The result has come out.”

The private room immediately quietened. Yin Le straightened up from his slouched, food-coma-induced form and looked at Yin He Xiang with bright eyes, watching him take two documents from his briefcase.

Yu Zhen also watched him. The smile slowly faded from his face and a tense expression appeared on his face without his notice.

Qiu Feiqian’s heart ached at the sight. She comforted, “Xiao Zhen, don’t think too much. As I said last time, you’re our Yin Family’s person. Even if cats or dogs show up on the sidelines, if you don’t want to pay attention to them, we’ll pretend they don’t exist. Relax, don’t give yourself pressure.”

Those words basically confirmed that they had discovered something which verified the father-son relationship between him and Zou Chengjing. 

Yu Zhen had already expected the result. He fixed his mood and replied, “Thanks, Mom. I know. I’ve prepared myself mentally when it comes to Zou Chengjing. Dad, you can tell us.”

“Zou Chengjing…” Yin Hexiang frowned at the mention of that name. After a second’s thought, he offered the document to Yu Zhen and said, “Take a look for yourself. If there’s anything you don’t understand, I’ll explain in detail.”

That’s fine, too. Yu Zhen nodded and accepted the documents.
