Everyday I Get up to See the Villain Stealing the Show 106

At dusk, An Yuan finished his dinner and returned to the inn.
Originally, he wanted to stay at the Yuehua Sect for a while, teach his disciple siblings martial arts and accompany the elders in planning for future development. Unfortunately, he was eating without tasting the food all the while in the Yuehua Sect, so he couldn’t help leaving Yuehua Mountain early to go to Kunlun Mountain. When he got to Kunlun Mountain, he noticed the people and things around him. Han Changsheng was not an ordinary person. Who knew what he planned to look like this time? If he didn’t stare at him carefully, he was afraid he wouldn’t be able to recognize him even if they stood face to face.
An Yuan went to the door of his room and pushed it open and was stunned——he clearly closed the door when he left, but now it opened with just a touch. Someone had opened his door and entered his room.
An Yuan frowned, then put his hand on the hilt of his sword and slowly stepped into the room. He didn’t rent a large room and everything could be seen at a glance. There was no one in the room. The intruders had already left, but there was a big wooden box on his desk.
An Yuan stepped forward and looked around the wooden box with shock. He slowly reached out to place his hand on the box, but didn’t open it immediately. On the table beside the wooden box lay a note with dried ink.
Han Changsheng squatted outside the window, holding his breath as he peeked inside.
The air in the room was so still, An Yuan just stood with his hand on the box. He didn’t open it. He didn’t know how long it took before he awkwardly woke up from his dream and slowly touched the lid of the box.
There were only nine words on the note.
“I dare you, sentence my Tianning Cult, to death.”
The size of the box made An Yuan’s heart beat like a drum. He didn’t dare to think or guess what might be inside.
After a while, he finally opened the box. Through the small slit in the window paper, Han Changsheng couldn’t see An Yuan’s expression, but saw him freeze like a wooden stake.
After a long time, An Yuan finally removed the contents of the box.
It was a human head. An Yuan had seen its face only once, when he took off the mask that night. At the time, the candlelight was flickering and his eyes were desperately open, so he couldn’t even blink. He just wanted to see it more clearly, so he didn’t read the details wrong.
It was Gu Mingxiao’s head.
An Yuan put the head on the table and gently touched it with his fingers. There were no gaps. The skin was stiff and cold, the complexion already blue. The head hadn’t been cut off long ago, but some time had passed.
He sat and looked at it for a long time, then combed the head’s hair. First, he combed it with his fingers, but it didn’t smooth out, so he got up and grabbed a comb. He gently brushed the messy, blood-stained hair one stroke at a time, then put it up, combed it into a bun, and inserted an embroidered hairpin into it.
His vision blurring, Han Changsheng slowly blinked his eyes and continued to watch. An Yuan had a calm attitude from beginning to end. He was not panicked or distressed. His hands just shook when he combed through the hair. Many strands of hair pulled loose, and he combed them in again, so it took a long time.
Then An Yuan picked up the written note.
A thunderstorm suddenly flashed across the calm night sky, and Han Changsheng subconsciously closed his eyes. When he opened them again, An Yuan already held the head in his arms.
“Ah….”
An Yuan cried out. His voice was hoarse, so the cry was like the low roar of a wild beast.
Han Changsheng suddenly retreated three steps.
The little stinky egg whispered, “Don’t you want to see him?”
Han Changsheng stood for a while, then a smile appeared on his pale face. “We’ll watch. When he buries the head, we’ll follow.”
The impulse to change his fate constantly surged up, but he suppressed it. He was not alone.
When enough time passed, An Yuan finally stepped out of the inn. It was originally a sunny day, he didn’t know why the thunder and lightning set in with rain at night. An Yuan knelt down on the ground, dug a hole with his bare hands, and carefully put Gu Mingxiao’s head into the soil. He covered it with a handful of soil.
Seeing this, Han Changsheng just turned around and pressed the brim of his straw hat lower, covering his expression.
“You said that if you could cast a spell and transfer the three marks on my body to him, he would become the leader of the Wulin Alliance?” Han Changsheng’s voice was still upbeat.
“It’s a pity that you can’t cast spells on the immortal lord. It’s really a pity.”
“If he could become the leader of the Wulin Alliance, would he take people to destroy my Tianning Cult immediately?”
The dragon li cat looked up at the sky. The sky was very dark, lit up by thunder and lightning through the storm clouds.
“Thank you,” Han Changsheng sighed.
The head made by using a cloaking spell would turn into stone in three days.
The dragon li cat caught up with Han Changsheng’s footsteps and said, “Are you really just going to leave like this?”
Han Changsheng said, “Yes. What would I do if I didn’t leave? After a while, I will see the Black and White Impermanence deities again. When the Immortal Lord returns to his throne, I will put in a good word for you. Maybe when the Immortal Lord takes a few breaths of immortality, you can also benefit and become a demon immortal.”
“You let me go.” The little stinky egg jumped into his arms. “Thank heavens he didn’t remove my fur. I hope he forgets everything after he returns to his place.”
“Let’s go,” Han Changsheng said, “Take me back to Xiushan.”
As soon as the white light appeared, Han Changsheng was at the foot of Xiushan. It was that convenient.
The dragon li cat jumped to the ground from Han Changsheng’s arms and said, “It’s time for me to go, too.”
Han Changsheng asked, “Won’t you stay and help me a bit more? Having you around saved me a lot of trouble.”
The little stinky egg shook his head. “I don’t dare anymore. I don’t know whether it’s good or bad, right or wrong to help you like this. If I accidentally hurt someone, heaven will strike me down with five blasts of thunder.”
Hearing what he said, Han Changsheng couldn’t force him anymore, and thanked him again. Then, he went up the mountain alone.
In the early morning of the second day, the people of the Tianning Cult found their leader had returned.
At breakfast, Han Changsheng gathered his four hall leaders together. He had already sent Lu Qingqian and Lu Baibi to deal with the Ying Yue Sect affairs, so they were no longer on the mountain.
When Hua Xiaoshuang saw Han Changsheng, he was very surprised. “You’re not the leader of the Wulin Alliance yet. Why did you come back so soon?”
Gu Mingxiao, Luo Xin, and Du Yuefei all stood together, suffering from facial paralysis. The devil incarnate had returned this quickly, and they don’t know yet what kind of new tricks Han Changsheng would come up with to mess with them.
Han Changsheng said, “It doesn’t make much sense to think about it prematurely. The Wulin Alliance leader title will be mine soon enough, but for now it’s more comfortable to come back and be the demonic cult leader.”
Gu Mingxiao picked up a pickled cucumber. “The winter wine has already brewed well and fermented, let the leader drink it before he leaves.”
Han Changsheng said, “I’m not going. I won’t go anymore.”
Hua Xiaoshuang raised his eyebrows. Gu Mingxiao smiled. Luo Xin’s chopsticks were frozen in midair. Du Yuefei bit his chopsticks, suspicious.
Han Changsheng said, “I’m not going anywhere. But, Du Yuefei, you get out and work.”
Du Yuefei was taken aback to hear his name and looked blankly at Han Changsheng.
Han Changsheng said, “You go to Wan Ai Gu, I heard that the owner of the valley is working on a medicine that can make people lose their memory. Help the people of Wan Ai Gu improve the medicine and bring it back to me.”
Du Yuefei was stunned. Not to mention how long it would take to travel from Xiushan to Wan Ai Gu, it would take time to develop a new drug. Even a short period was several months, but a long period was several years. There is even a chance of not developing the drug in the first place.
Du Yuefei said, “Leader, this…”
He was suddenly kicked under the table.
Hua Xiaoshuang said, “Interesting.”
Du Yuefei could only remain silent.
Han Changsheng couldn’t wait to get the medicine. At noon, he urged Du Yuefei to pack up and leave.
After urging Du Yuefei, Han Changsheng went to find Luo Xin.
“You, take a few people and horses to the Lingshan Mountains and kill the monkeys that jump up and down.”
The Chixia Cult resided on the Lingshan Mountain, once considered being the second demonic cult in the nation. It not only caused a lot of trouble to the right way of the Wulin by committing a lot of evil, but it also ambitiously wanted to destroy the Tianning Cult. However, The Chixia Cult was destroyed a few decades earlier. Although it was rebuilt later, it was no longer a situation that would call to their attention. The Tianning Cult no longer regarded them relevant.
Feeling it an inexplicable request, Luo Xin asked, “Why did the leader suddenly come up with the idea of eradicating the Chixia Cult?”
Han Changsheng spoke coldly, “I met a few people from the Chixia Cult when I was beneath the mountain and they almost harmed me.”
Luo Xin frowned slightly, then paused and said, “The Chixia Cult’s teachings haven’t been successful for a long time. If we are to take action against them, it doesn’t have to be me personally taking the cult out.”
Han Changsheng interrupted him, “You go in person, I’ll rest assured if it’s you.”
Luo Xin choked back his words, speechless for a while.

AHHH!! How awful to break An Yuan’s heart like that ;-; And I’m going to guess HCS wants that medicine to make himself forget his own memories of AY? This story has been mostly lighthearted and silly so far and this chapter takes such a sad turn.
Thank you for translating!
I know!!!! Sometimes I just don’t understand what’s in HCS’s head 🙁
And that’s an interesting idea! I thought he was going to use it to make AY forget about him so he would go through with the prophecy of demolishing the Tianning Cult in order to ascend and not get cold feet about it, but I think your idea makes more sense.
Thank you for reading every week! <3
Wow, another shitty move of HCS on AY D: And I guess the weather reacts to AY’s mood, eh? The grand finale is near. I can’t even imagine what AY will feel when he finds out why all that happened. HCS kinda is a victim in this too… blame his poor brain for all his idiotic ideas over the time.
And now he wants the meds to forget everything about AY? Aigo, what a mess this all is D:
Thx for the ch (ㅅ˘ㅂ˘)
Oh my GOD!! NOOO….. AY…dont waste your love on him…How I mean really HOW could he?? That was like a splap after all this comedy and such…It was real backstab, so cruel…I thought he would use himself to become leader of W then show everybody they are laughingstock as he is head of TC and make them so mad they would destroy them…I guess he sends everyone out, as he is expecting AY will come really quickly to get his revenge…Sigh…that was heartbreaking scene…
And of course thank you for the chapter.:)
From all the awful things HCS has willingly done, faking his own death just to drive AY into despair is probably the worst… HCS, I don’t know what kind of karmic debt AY owes you, but he’s paid his dues many times over already.
oh. my. god!
that was genious!!!!!
if HCS pretends to be AY’s lover and request for him to kill the cult leader, AY might do it but he will have questions and may even hesitate. But now that he thinks the cult kills the only person in his heart?
yeah, this is GOLD
and goddamn i love the angst
And so he raises his death flag.
