Everyday I Get up to See the Villain Stealing the Show 89

Han Changsheng couldn’t drive Hua Xiaoshuang away, thus he could only take him along on the journey. It wasn’t long before they came to Shu, the gate to the Ying Yue Sect’s lair. However, as a hitman organization, the Ying Yue Sect would have many people who sought revenge on them. Naturally, their whereabouts would be difficult to pinpoint. It could be said they were like a crafty rabbit with three burrows. To avoid exposing his game away, Han Changsheng didn’t bring the little Stinky Egg with him. The little Stinky Egg couldn’t predict the future. He could only tell him where the Ying Yue Sect might be. It was up to Han Changsheng to find them on his own.

There were many Wulin members in Shu. After the Wulin conference, regardless of who was successful and who was unknown, or had lived in the nation a long time or who was still growing up, no matter if they were good at martial arts, as long as they were a member of the Wulin, they became very active. Everyone dreamed of becoming the leader of the Wulin. After all, although Lu Honghua’s requirements weren’t low, everyone had a chance. For a while, all the petty criminals were chased down with no way out, and even some righteous people who had committed evil were reported and denounced as bandits.

However, because the original intention of the righteous sects in the Wulin was to fight against each other for the position of leader of the Wulin Alliance, there wasn’t much fighting even if there was cooperation. Although the evil villains had been harassed since the Wulin Conference, there still weren’t many righteous individuals with enough power to eradicate the evil by themselves. And Xiushan had a remote terrain and an enormous force. At the moment, they were still safe and secure.

The Ying Yue Sect was notorious in the martial arts world, and naturally, they didn’t have a pleasant couple of days. Many people were interested in this juicy steak, especially since Yue Peng’s true face had just been exposed at the Wulin Conference recently. Yue Peng had a close relationship with the Ying Yue Sect. If someone wanted to complete Lu Honghua’s tasks, the Ying Yue Sect was undoubtedly an excellent target.

Han Changsheng took the two around Shu to inquire about the whereabouts of the Ying Yue Sect. However, the Ying Yue Sect was hard to gain information about. Han Changsheng visited several places suggested by the little Stinky Egg, but they had been empty for a long time. He was afraid that the hitmen of the Ying Yue Sect grew uneasy because of the people wandering through Shu lately and had found somewhere else to hide. Now, Han Changsheng had no clue where to find them.

After two fruitless days, the three continued their journey through the countryside at dusk.

“There are several people ahead.” Hearing a voice in front of him, Hua Xiaoshuang stepped forward to look around, then turned back and said, “A dozen of them, they’re wearing the same clothes but I don’t know which sect they are.”

Han Changsheng and An Yuan hurried up to check. There were many martial artists. Maybe it has something to do with the Ying Yue Sect.

Standing on slightly higher ground, Han Changsheng saw clearly that, as Hua Xiaoshuang said, ten people sat around in the open space in front of them. They wore clothes belonging to a certain sect. The uniform looked familiar to Han Changsheng, but he couldn’t think of it for a moment.

“It looks like… it’s Yunxiao Sect,” An Yuan whispered from the side.

Han Changsheng was taken aback. “The Yunxiao Sect?” On the day when he first met the old man Xuanji, the two people he taught a lesson to in the pavilion were the Yunxiao Sect disciples. Han Changsheng took a closer look, and sure enough, he saw familiar faces in the crowd——one tall and thin, and the other short and fat. They were the two idiots that he’d viciously punished with old man Xuanji that day!

“Do you know them?” Hua Xiaoshuang asked.

An Yuan looked at him in surprise. “You and I, that day…” Halfway through, he stopped speaking, and watched Hua Xiaoshuang suspiciously.

Hua Xiaoshuang followed him uprightly. Han Changsheng felt guilty at first, then said, “Xiaohua, don’t you remember? You told me that on the day when you finished taking care of the evil Yin and Yang Sha twins, you tidied up two Yunxiao Sect bastards on the way back to the Yuehua Sect.”

Hua Xiaoshuang raised his eyebrows, his expression neither willing nor unwilling. He didn’t answer.

Han Changsheng thought for a moment and said, “The Yunxiao Sect isn’t in Shu. They don’t need to travel through this place on their way back from Kunlun Mountain… At the Wulin Assembly, the Yunxiao Sect didn’t bring this many people, so they had to come together temporarily away from the sect. What are so many people doing here?”

Hua Xiaoshuang said, “It’s ten people like us, looking for the Ying Yue Sect.”

Han Changsheng clicked his tongue. To fight for the position of the Wulin leader, the candidates weren’t willing to cooperate with each other, but it was another matter if any of them wanted help. Just as An Yuan, Han Changsheng, and Hua Xiaoshuang acted together, Han Changsheng and Hua Xiaoshuang weren’t interested in being the leader of the Wulin Alliance. The leader of the Yunxiao Sect wanted to become the leader of the Wulin Alliance. Of course, no one from the other sects was willing to help him, but his disciples were. If he ascended to the throne of the Wulin Alliance leader, the entire Yunxiao Sect would follow suit.

An Yuan asked, “Will they have news of the Ying Yue Sect?”

Han Changsheng rolled his eyes and said, “What if they do? Would they tell us?”

An Yuan was stunned and stopped speaking. He came to the Ying Yue Sect to eradicate the evil forces and not to be the next Wulin leader. However, his kindness did not mean that he was ignorant. He understood what Han Changsheng meant.

Hua Xiaoshuang said, “If they don’t want to say anything, just make it so they can’t say no?” He took a bottle out of his sleeve only to put it back when Han Changsheng glared at him and smacked the offered bottle back.

Hua Xiaoshuang had a very black belly. He would inevitably carry a bottle or two of croton and itching powder with him. If anyone fell into his hands, there would be no good outcome. On any normal day, Han Changsheng would naturally want to use such a labor-saving method to get the news. But, with An Yuan, he could only pretend to be a gentleman.

An Yuan watched Hua Xiaoshuang again, with no words.

Han Changsheng thought for a while and said, “Anyway, we’re like headless flies now. It’s better not to leave tonight and go along with them for a while to see whether they leave any clues. They are just as blind, like us, feeling the way.”

Hua Xiaoshuang and An Yuan had no opinion on his decision, so they stopped at a place near to the Yunxiao Sect members.

In a flash, it was nighttime.

The disciples of the Yunxiao Sect ran there without stopping and were also tired. At night, they left two disciples to keep watch while the others fell asleep. Han Changsheng and the other two decided to take turns keeping watch and resting.

Sometime after that, while Han Changsheng was dozing, he suddenly heard shouts and footfalls. He slept lightly and immediately woke up. It was An Yuan’s turn to vigil. He laid on the hill, staring toward the Yunxiao Sect.

Han Changsheng came up to him and asked, “What’s the matter?” There was chaos and fighting in the dark.

An Yuan looked serious and shook his head. “I don’t know what happened, but suddenly they’re fighting.”

A Yunxiao Sect disciple screamed and fell to the ground. An Yuan frowned and grabbed his sword before rushing over.

Han Changsheng was about to stop him, but he withdrew his hand and watched An Yuan go. After several failures before, he finally summed up an experience. Whatever An Yuan wanted to do, he would let him do it. He wouldn’t stop him, let alone fight before him. The people he wanted to save must be noble; the people he wanted to kill must be bad. These were all written in the book by the old man. The reason his life path was disorganized was that Han Changsheng meddled in his affairs.

Hua Xiaoshuang also woke up and watched An Yuan run to save the people of the Yunxiao Sect. He asked Han Changsheng, “Are we going to fight?”

Han Changsheng shook his head. “Don’t.” If you aren’t careful, you will rob An Yuan of the limelight and make the situation even worse.

It was late at night and the fire that the Yunxiao Sect disciples had built had almost burnt out, so it was very dim. After a while, the Yunxiao Sect disciples stoked the flame, and their field of view grew much wider.

“Ah!”

A cry of surprise came from the Yunxiao Sect disciples.

Someone cried out, “It’s someone from the Ying Yue Sect!”

One of the hitmen jumped at a disciple of the Yunxiao Sect and threw him to the ground. He raised his fist, but seemed hesitant. An Yuan had already heard that the man was from the Ying Yue Sect, so he no longer showed mercy when he slashed his sword and ran forward to stab the hitman. The hitman let out a long shriek when he was stabbed in the back. Not far off, Han Changsheng and Hua Xiaoshuang looked at each other——that sound, it was just like the howl of a wild beast!

Startled, An Yuan withdrew his sword. The “hitman” rolled to the ground and showed his face. He wasn’t a man, but a monkey as big as a man! Just then, he turned his back to An Yuan, and the sky grew dim. To An Yuan’s eyes, it looked like the man had animal skin draped over him.

As the fire grew brighter and brighter, they finally saw the situation on the battlefield. The group of “hitmen” who came to attack the Yunxiao sect were all wolves, tigers, and leopards, but none of them were men!

“Fuck,” Han Changsheng scolded, “The animals are possessed!”

Hua Xiaoshuang frowned, obviously thinking.

The monkey who’d been stabbed by An Yuan, cried out again, faltered two more times, then remained almost motionless. As in response, there was a long, shrill, angry cry from the woods not far off——not from wild animals, but from people!

“It’s the man who controls the animals!” Hua Xiaoshuang grabbed his weapon and ran towards the sound in the woods.

Because of the loud constant fighting and yelling earlier, Han Changsheng didn’t notice it. Amidst those sounds were the notes of a soft flute. When the sound came from the woods, the flute stopped playing, but soon rang again, now more urgent.

The animals who were attacking the disciples of the Yunxiao Sect turned and ran to An Yuan one after another!
