Everyday I Get up to See the Villain Stealing the Show 88

After they bought everything for the journey, the three were ready to head to the Ying Yue Sect, the band of assassins. It would be hard to find their nest, but it didn’t pose a problem for Han Changsheng. Before going down the mountain, Han Changsheng specifically looked for the little Stinky Egg to confirm that the Ying Yue Sect was in the middle of Sichuan and marked his conjectures on a map.

The three men hastened their travel together, but their relationship was very strange. An Yuan didn’t pay much attention to Han Changsheng, since he was too busy watching Hua Xiaoshuang. Hua Xiaoshuang stroked the water on both sides, coaxing An Yuan while he pampered Han Changsheng with solicitous questions of his well being in front of him. Like a man with many concubines, Hua Xiaoshuang ‘hugged’ both of them, not favoring one or the other. All the while, Han Changsheng paid close attention to An Yuan, but continually cast a blind eye to Hua Xiaoshuang, hoping to get rid of him.

In the evening, the three camped in the wild.

Hua Xiaoshuang threw some firewood into the fire, then touched his stomach and emotionally said, “I’m so hungry. Brother Luo, you’re good at martial arts. Why don’t you go hunt some game to bring back for dinner tonight?”

Han Changsheng glared at him. “Isn’t there dry food?”

Hua Xiaoshuang gave Han Changsheng a smirk. “But the dry food is not delicious.”

Han Changsheng rolled his eyes. This bastard would take advantage of every opportunity to ride on his leader. It was obvious that he wanted to get rid of Han Changsheng so he could extract more information from An Yuan when Han Changsheng was away. That tactic wouldn’t fool Han Changsheng!

Han Changsheng had no room to breathe. “Go by yourself. How come you get to order me around?!”

Hua Xiaoshuang shrugged and looked helpless. “Okay, okay. I’ll go manage the business myself, I presume.”

Han Changsheng snorted, showing his indifference.

As soon as Hua Xiaoshuang got up, An Yuan rose with him. “I’ll go with you.”

Startled, Han Changsheng angrily gritted his teeth.

Hua Xiaoshuang shrugged as he gloated towards Han Changsheng, insinuating that this wasn’t his fault. It was An Yuan’s decision and he couldn’t help it.

Han Changsheng quickly got up and said, “It’s better for the three of us to go together.”

But then, An Yuan turned to Han Changsheng and said, “Brother Luo, I’m sorry. I want to speak with Hua Xiaosa alone, so…”

It stunned Han Changsheng.

Hua Xiaoshuang was also stunned. He almost laughed.

This was what An Yuan wanted. Han Changsheng had no choice but to watch them leave. However, Han Changsheng would never compromise so easily. As soon as the two men went away, he hid his breath and caught up with them.

Hua Xiaoshuang and An Yuan stopped before getting too far away. Hua Xiaoshuang asked, “What do you want to speak to me about?”

With a heavy face, An Yuan asked, “What do you mean?”

Tilting his head, Hua Xiaoshuang responded, “What do you mean? I don’t understand what you’re talking about.”

An Yuan said, “What is your relationship with Luo Xin?”

Hua Xiaoshuang smiled. “Didn’t I say I grew up with him like brothers?”

An Yuan breathed deep into his chest. “A brother that you hold and embrace so intimately?”

Hua Xiaoshuang’s face slowly opened into a sly smile. “Why, are you jealous?”

Opening his eyes, An Yuan angrily said, “What if I am? You two have such a good relationship in private. I can’t control it. Why do you whisper sweet nothings to him in front of me in broad daylight? It’s hard for me!”

Leisurely, Hua Xiaoshuang mused, “If you’re jealous, just say you’re jealous. You like him… me, you have me in your heart, and you want to be with me. If you want to be with me, if you don’t want me to be close to others, just say it. Say nothing about repaying kindness and so on!”

Startled, An Yuan’s face seemed to be on fire. Heat rushed across his face at once. Han Changsheng, hiding behind a boulder, was stunned, his heart beat faster. Why did Hua Xiaoshuang say that suddenly? Did An Yuan really like him? Was he really jealous? He pricked his ears up nervously for An Yuan’s answer.

An Yuan, ashamed and angry, said, “What do you think I am?! Do you like jealous women? If you did this to annoy me, you are too naive!”

Seeing the red rush over his face, Hua Xiaoshuang wasn’t annoyed at all. Acting like a rascal, he said, “What if I did it just to provoke you, what is your answer?”

An Yuan’s expression became a little strange. He looked at Hua Xiaoshuang for a long time, then said, “You… changed. You didn’t have this… You’re so shameless, well, you were pretty shameless in the past too, but you were never this incorrigible.”

Hua Xiaoshuang: “…”

Han Changsheng, hiding behind the boulder: “…………”

An Yuan suddenly seemed to think of something. Taking a step forward, he quickly attacked Hua Xiaoshuang’s ears. Frightened, Hua Xiaoshuang had no time to stop him from touching behind his ear.

Hua Xiaoshuang asked, “What are you doing?”

With a puzzled look on his face, An Yuan withdrew his hand. Hua Xiaoshuang’s face was real.

Hua Xiaoshuang was quite calm, but it startled Han Changsheng. Subconsciously, he covered his ears, as if he was the one being attacked.

An Yuan didn’t find a clue. Taking a fierce look at him, he turned around and left.

Hua Xiaoshuang shrugged and reluctantly followed.

Before long, they came back from hunting. Han Changsheng returned to the fire ahead of time and sat down. An Yuan threw a rabbit and a pheasant to Han Changsheng, who strung them together and roasted them over the fire.

An Yuan said, “I saw a stream beside the road when we first arrived here. I’m going to fetch some water and return.”

Hua Xiaoshuang waved uncaringly, “Go.”

As soon as An Yuan left, Han Changsheng glared up at Hua Xiaoshuang. His voice clear, Hua Xiaoshuang said, “Are you eavesdropping again?”

Han Changsheng said, “Why did you…”

“Ah!” Hua Xiaoshuang stopped him. “If you don’t want to be found out, you’d better check if there’s an eavesdropper like you nearby.”

Han Changsheng: “???”

A moment later, An Yuan came out from behind a tree in embarrassment and ran to the stream.

Han Changsheng: “…”

Hua Xiaoshuang tut-ed and said, “He really was eavesdropping. You two are well suited for each other.”

Han Changsheng pinched out a cold sweat. If he came out about it all just then, An Yuan would’ve heard everything. His disguise for so long would’ve fallen short.

Han Changsheng said, “So, you’re flirty to me during the day to agitate him? Why?”

Hua Xiaoshuang curled his lips. “Since you want to use my face for your misdeeds, naturally I want a good return. If not, isn’t it a waste of the road you’ve paved for me?”

Han Changsheng mumbled, “Stop being petty!” He knew in his heart that Hua Xiaoshuang was sullen with him and wanted his revenge.

Hua Xiaoshuang moved closer to Han Changsheng. Holding his cheek, he stared into his eyes. Han Changsheng asked, “What do you see?”

Hua Xiaoshuang replied, “An Yuan is an awkwardly difficult man. But when did you start acting the same way as he? When you tricked me and Du Yuefei, didn’t you have a good time?”

Startled, Han Changsheng fell silent.

A few years ago, Hua Xiaoshuang’s father, Hall Master Hua Lao, died in a battle with the orthodox people of Wulin. Hua Xiaoshuang was once disgusted with the affairs of the nation and wanted to leave the Tianning Cult. The Black and White Impermanence deities also said that, according to his original fate, he would’ve become the world’s richest man with his outstanding business talents after he left the Tianning Cult.

But Han Changsheng and Hua Xiaoshuang grew up together. He was reluctant to see Hua Xiaoshuang go. It could be said that Han Changsheng’s pestering was the driving force that made Hua Xiaoshuang stay. Du Yuefei and the others also weren’t originally from the Tianning Cult. Han Changsheng took a fancy to them, wheedling, cajoling, and forcibly brought them to the Tianning Cult. Ever since he was a young child, he wouldn’t give the people he liked until they were in his hands.

However, Han Changsheng’s attitude towards An Yuan now made Hua Xiaoshuang very baffled. If he liked An Yuan, he would’ve snatched him back like any other strong person, but he never said that he liked An Yuan so far. Moreover, it wasn’t the case that he didn’t like him, judging by his gestures.

Hua Xiaoshuang saw that Han Changsheng didn’t respond. Prodding him with his elbow, he asked, “Why don’t you speak?”

Han Changsheng threw the roasted rabbit in his hand at Hua Xiaoshuang. “Didn’t you say you were hungry? Eat quickly!”

Hua Xiaoshuang squinted at Han Changsheng. Seeing the man’s delicate heart, he noticed that Han Changsheng didn’t want to say anything. He stopped asking questions and took the hare to eat.

Han Changsheng sighed in silence. Maybe An Yuan liked him and didn’t want to talk about it. But he liked An Yuan, and he couldn’t even say it.

After a while, An Yuan returned from the stream.

Hua Xiaoshuang laid out in a stretch. “I’m full, you eat. I’m tired from the journey today. I’ll go pick up some firewood and go to sleep.” Then he got up and left.

Only Han Changsheng and An Yuan were left sitting by the fire. Han Changsheng silently handed some roasted meat to An Yuan, unsure of what to say.

An Yuan took the meat but didn’t eat it. Instead, he looked into the fire in a daze. After a long time, he asked, “Brother Luo, what kind of person do you think he is?”

Han Changsheng said, “He is a very good man.”

Wryly, An Yuan replied, “Brother Luo, don’t you think that’s too perfunctory?”

Han Changsheng bit his lip. In fact, except for that night’s incident, things went according to his expectations. He disguised himself as someone else from the demonic cult to help An Yuan, and allowed An Yuan to remember his kindness. When the day that the Black and White Impermanence deities spoke of actually came, An Yuan wouldn’t embarrass him. He hoped An Yuan would have a good impression on Hua Xiaoshuang. But when it came to this moment, Han Changsheng was very uncomfortable.

He didn’t want An Yuan to like Hua Xiaoshuang. At least, not the real Hua Xiaoshuang. But that was against his real intention.

After a long time, Han Changsheng said, “I heard him mention it. He likes you very much.”

An Yuan was stunned.

Han Changsheng said, “He is a bad tempered guy sometimes, but he is a wonderful man. He refused to return to the sect for half a year, which made our bad brother furious with him.”

An Yuan picked up a branch, threw it on the fire, and murmured, “I know what you said… But, after the Wulin Conference, I suddenly felt like he was a completely different person… He looks at me strangely.”

Han Changsheng laughed twice. He was more determined to drive Hua Xiaoshuang away as soon as possible. He said, “He has a hidden trouble that’s hard to mention. Our sect is not what you imagined it to be. Our elder brother has a medicine in his hand that can control people’s hearts. If someone took it, they’d lose their memory and their mind to obey him. So, the people in our sect are always capricious.”

An Yuan was shocked. “Is there such a drug in the world?”

There was still that kind of medicine in the world?! Hua Xiaoshuang, who was hiding behind a boulder, was also shocked! What was the master’s plan? Who was the bad brother? What was this drug he hadn’t heard of? What was Han Changsheng’s so-called conspiracy?

Han Changsheng added more firewood to the flame and said, “There’s no more firewood.” He rose, refusing to answer An Yuan’s questions, and fled the scene. “Hua Xiaoshuang hasn’t returned. I’ll find him.”

The night’s eavesdropper No. 3 stepped away from the boulder and sneaked into the night.

He used his real name not the fake name? Was that a slip up that HCS committed? Author error?
