Anywhere inside the hospital.<\/span><\/em><\/p>

Deep in thought, Shi Jin stepped out of the doctor\u2019s office and observed his surroundings. The office\u2019s location was really good\u2014close to the stairs and next to the elevator, but in the corner of the building. The passers-by wouldn\u2019t notice any movement there, unless they deliberately looked that way.<\/span><\/p>

And because Lishui Hospital only had one entrance, people were accustomed to using the staircase and elevator nearest to it, the others effectively forgotten.<\/span><\/p>

However, the location of the office had one obvious shortcoming\u2014it was diagonally opposite of the hospital storeroom, separated by the length of the floor. The elevator and staircase only provided stealthy movement up and down between floors, not <\/span>across <\/span><\/i>the floor, so anyone moving a large amount of boxes from here to the storeroom would stand out like a sore thumb. As such, it was unlikely that the storeroom was the destination of the goods.<\/span><\/p>

But if not the storeroom, then where?<\/span><\/p>

Was there another, hidden storeroom in Lishui Hospital? And, one only connected to the pharmacy, independent of the hospital, the real reason why Long Shi chose to hide there?<\/span><\/p>

Shi Jin felt that he had discovered the truth. He went to check out the elevator while recalling the overall layout of the floors of Lishui Hospital but couldn\u2019t think of a place big and convenient enough to be the hidden storeroom. After looking around, however, his attention turned to a place most people would hardly think of\u2014the morgue.<\/span><\/p>

Not every hospital had a morgue, but Lishui did. It was on the underground floor and not accessible by the main staircase, only by the staircase and the elevator next to the doctor\u2019s office. According to the earlier investigation report, it was very small, with only two rooms, one for corpses and one for sundries and utilities. Usually, only an old nurse\u2019s aide watched over it, and there was nothing there to attract anyone\u2019s attention.<\/span><\/p>

But now, Shi Jin felt that the morgue was worth a visit.<\/span><\/p>

He pressed the elevator call button, telling Gua Two his conjecture.<\/span><\/p>

After a moment of consideration, Gua Two gave him a free hand.<\/span><\/p>

The lanky man had been keeping an eye on Shi Jin. Seeing him suddenly call from the elevator, he promptly asked, \u201cTeam Leader Shi?\u201d<\/span><\/p>

It was the first time Shi Jin had been called this, and it took him a few seconds to realize the man was addressing him. Glancing back at him and the other Annihilation members, he thought for a moment and replied, \u201cI\u2019m going to check another place. 9, 10, 11, and 12, you follow me. The four people entered the elevator with Shi Jin, leaving the other two behind.<\/span><\/p>

Shi Jin pressed the button for the underground floor. \u201cTo the morgue. What are your names?\u201d<\/span><\/p>

The morgue?<\/span><\/em><\/p>

The man froze for a second, then replied hurriedly, \u201cJust call us by our numbers, it\u2019s easier to remember. I\u2019m 9.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

The other three nodded affirmatively and introduced themselves with numbers.<\/span><\/p>

Shi Jin remembered their faces one by one, then looked at the elevator panel. He found that as the elevator went down, static appeared in his earpiece. He frowned and tried to call Gua Two several times, but didn\u2019t get a response.<\/span><\/p>

\u201cThe signal underground is bad,\u201d Number 9 said, also pressing his earpiece. \u201cI lost connection.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

Shi Jin lowered his hand. \u201cFollow me, and try stay close.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

It was best they didn\u2019t get separated.<\/span><\/p>

While they spoke, the elevator arrived at the underground floor and stopped. The door opened, revealing a dimly lit corridor.<\/span><\/p>

Shi Jin took the lead. After confirming the situation outside, he pulled out his gun and walked down the corridor towards the two doors at the other end.<\/span><\/p>

The corridor was long, and some prayers and religious scenes unique to L country\u2019s beliefs were painted on its walls, making it look quite eerie. The lanky man swallowed nervously. He looked at Shi Jin at the front of the group, apparently completely unaffected by the surroundings, and a glimmer of admiration flickered in his heart.<\/span><\/p>

The psychological strength of this young man, who looked a little younger than him, seemed outstanding.<\/span><\/p>

The two rooms at the end were dark, with no lights on. Their doors were locked.<\/span><\/p>

Shi Jin shot both locks, then not caring if anyone was inside, threw tear gas grenades in.<\/span><\/p>

Once he did, the utility room was still quiet, but there was a commotion in the corpse storage room.<\/span><\/p>

Kicking it over, he crouched behind it and made several more shots at people hiding in the corners.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Shi Jin got up and turned on the light in the morgue. After the tear gas completely dissipated, he signaled for his companions still outside to come in, then went to check the state of the opponents.<\/span><\/p>

There were six people in total; four were slightly injured, and two had passed out from their wounds.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Shi Jin was silent, but his grip on the gun tightened. Although he had known the casualties were inevitable, he still felt uncomfortable.<\/span><\/p>

Hurting and killing people was not a great experience.<\/span><\/p>

Adjusting his mood, he asked two people to tie them up and dress their wounds. Leaving them to it, he started to search the morgue.<\/span><\/p>

When the lanky man heard his order, his expression grew odd.<\/span><\/p>

Taking care of the fallen enemies\u2019 wounds was probably the strangest order he\u2019d ever heard. Shi Jin didn\u2019t notice the mood fluctuation of his temporary subordinates. He carefully observed the small morgue.<\/span><\/p>

Lishui Hospital was an old hospital, which showed in the interior d\u00e9cor and fixtures. The morgue, with dim lights and pale, gloomy walls, was a mixture of old and new. The beds and freezers embedded in one wall were new, but some of the furniture and equipment had been clearly used for years.<\/span><\/p>

There was nothing else in the room\u2014no goods, and seemingly no place to hide them. However, since the Hydra members stayed here, they must\u2019ve been protecting <\/span>something<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>

Shi Jin studied the floor, then the walls. Finally, his gaze fell at the mortuary freezers.<\/span><\/p>

Number 9 had been paying attention to Shi Jin\u2019s movements. When he saw the teenager look at the cold chambers, a bad feeling appeared in his heart.<\/span><\/p>

The next second, his hunch came true\u2014Shi Jin suddenly walked towards the freezers, reached for one of the drawers, and pulled it out without hesitation.<\/span><\/p>

An old man\u2019s body was revealed. He would\u2019ve died not long ago, because aside from his paleness, he looked as if he was just sleeping.<\/span><\/p>

Number 9 couldn\u2019t help taking a cold breath and turning his head away. He was ashamed of it, but he had a big weakness\u2014despite successfully passing Gua Seven\u2019s training, he couldn\u2019t get rid of his fear of ghosts and corpses.<\/span><\/p>

Shi Jin saw the body and froze, but he quickly got a grip. After apologizing to the old man, he closed the drawer and pulled the next, not affected in the least.<\/span><\/p>

The lanky man thought he was going to suffocate. In his mind played an endless loop of a corpse suddenly sitting up!<\/span><\/p>

But in reality, there was obviously no such thing as a moving corpse. Shi Jin smoothly opened one freezer after another, his expression calm and his movements steady. Finally, when he reached the last chamber, he was met with resistance\u2014it was locked.<\/span><\/p>

Shi Jin\u2019s expression changed. He tackled the lanky man to the floor with a flying dive and rolled away with him, warning loudly, \u201cWatch out! Get down!\u201d<\/span><\/p>

In this line of work, when somebody shouted \u201cget down,\u201d you got down. The other three instantly dropped to the ground.<\/span><\/p>

Bang bang bang.<\/span><\/em><\/p>

The sound of gunfire rang from the inside. Fortunately, Shi Jin warned them in time and no one got injured.<\/span><\/p>

After confirming everyone was fine, Shi Jin let go of Number 9, sneaked to the side of the door and threw in a tear gas grenade, as usual. Signaling his companions to lay down the cover fire and suppress the enemy, he waited for the right moment, then nimbly crawled inside the hidden room.<\/span><\/p>

That\u2019s right, crawled. Shi Jin\u2019s movements were agile and graceful, but they still couldn\u2019t be called anything else.<\/span><\/p>

It was large, filled with strange equipment and shelves with bottles and cans. It looked like a secret experimental research base.<\/span><\/p>

Shi Jin was thrilled, knowing that he probably uncovered why Long Shi had hidden in Lishui Hospital. Taking a deep breath, he forced himself to calm down\u2014now was not the time to be giddy. He used his hearing to distinguish the enemies\u2019 positions, and approached the nearest one under the cover of the shelves. He hit the back of the man\u2019s neck with his pistol\u2019s grip, silently rendering him unconscious.<\/span><\/p>

Not many people hid inside the secret room. With the help of Xiao Si\u2019s hearing buff, Shi Jin easily took them down, then found the signal jammer and destroyed it, restoring connection with Gua Two.<\/span><\/p>

{Why did I lose contact with you? Did something happen on your side?} Gua Two asked at once.<\/span><\/p>

Shi Jin stood in the middle of this strange room, looking at the tied up people in white coats and the messy laboratory equipment on the tables. Unable to conceal his joy, he said, \u201cThere was a signal jammer in the morgue. Stop searching for the storeroom and send the people here\u2014I\u2019ve found Hydra\u2019s secret laboratory. They seem to be developing new drugs.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

Shi Jin wiped his face with his hand, embarrassed as he admitted, \u201cI don\u2019t know the language of L country…\u201d<\/span><\/p>

Gua Three, the most level-headed of them, glanced around what looked like a rudimentary chemistry lab. \u201cWe need the professionals\u2019 help,\u201d he announced.<\/span><\/p>

Gua Two immediately pulled out his phone and called Gua Seven\u2014Uncle Long didn\u2019t come with them to L country, so they could only ask Gua Seven to send doctors from the local branch to help.<\/span><\/p>

After another half hour, several doctors arrived in a hurry.<\/span><\/p>

Shi Jin and the others let them work in peace and left the hidden room. They stood in the morgue, looking at each other.<\/span><\/p>

\u201cIt\u2019s not too early. Let\u2019s go eat?\u201d Gua Two asked heartily.<\/span><\/p>

Gua Three\u2019s eyes swept over the gloomy morgue, then over Shi Jin, who was visibly concerned about the hidden lab. \u201cYes, let\u2019s eat, it\u2019s been a busy day. Gua Two raised an eyebrow. \u201cI\u2019m reaaaaally curious. What, exactly, did Jun-shao say to him?\u201d<\/span><\/p>

\u201cI see you\u2019re going for a major penalty this time.\u201d Gua Three gave him a look, then reached out and patted him on the shoulder. \u201cCome on, we need to talk to the L country\u2019s officials. Let\u2019s leave this place to Shi Jin\u2014we\u2019ll call him when it\u2019s time to eat.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

According to Xiao Si\u2019s instructions, Shi Jin dragged out a notebook and a cardboard folder from a scattered pile of waste in the cabinet. Blowing dust off them, he began to check their contents.<\/span><\/p>

The notebook was small, about the size of his palm, and filled with Y-language words. Shi Jin glanced through it but found it was all specialized vocabulary which he couldn\u2019t understand. Regretfully, he set it aside and turned his attention to the folder.<\/span><\/p>

There wasn\u2019t much data inside, only about a dozen pages, and the first few pages were full of some random professional terms. It wasn\u2019t until page six that Shi Jin found something useful.<\/span><\/p>

It was an abstract sketch of something resembling a jellyfish. There were some scribbled Y-language words next to it, almost unintelligible, but no trace of Chinese characters.<\/span><\/p>

Having a vague hunch about what he was looking at, Shi Jin hurriedly checked the rest of the pages.<\/span><\/p>

They were filled with careless sketches of snakes of unknown species, strange-looking polyps, plants with gorgeous flowers, and more and more Y-language words. Finally, at the very bottom of the last page, Shi Jin found a blurry character which looked to have been written unconsciously and then erased.<\/span><\/p>
