The number of first-class schools of music in the world could be counted on two hands, and the Paris\u2019 National Conservatory of Music was one of the most outstanding.\u00a0<\/p>

Any top music academy would have orchestras of varying sizes, or private, student orchestras. Almost every one of them would perform from time to time, and it was one of the ways students communicated with each other and enhanced their skills.\u00a0<\/p>

Qi Mu thought of joining his violin department\u2019s orchestra, but Akkad kept him too busy for it. He was unable to participate in their daily practice, so he gave up.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

After the opening ceremony, when Qi Mu returned to Akkad\u2019s designated violin room, his mentor said, \u201cLittle Seven you will start rehearsing with the college orchestra tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>

In a daze, Qi Mu asked, \u201cProfessor, don\u2019t we need to keep practicing?\u201d<\/p>

He was in a bottleneck period, and it was hard to keep improving in such a short amount of time. Akkad also changed his exercises from training his skills to improving his mastery and understanding of music. But, Qi Mu wasn\u2019t confident he could reach the level Akkad wanted.\u00a0<\/p>

Akkad nodded then took a piece of paper from his score folder and handed it to Qi Mu. \u201cThis is the letter I got from the Dean. You can serve as the orchestra\u2019s concertmaster right away.\u201d<\/p>

Qi Mu was so shocked he couldn\u2019t even ask, \u201cWhy did you put such an important thing in a score folder?\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>

Instead, he asked, \u201cProfessor, isn\u2019t Angelo the concertmaster? He\u2019s excellent, I think he deserves the position. I don\u2019t want to steal his seat.\u201d<\/p>

Akkad smiled and said,\u00a0 \u201cSeven, do you know that he\u2019s going to graduate soon? He\u2019s busy preparing for his graduation project and exam. He has no time to practice with the orchestra, he\u2019s practically resigned.\u201d<\/p>

After a pause, he continued, \u201cThey don\u2019t want to take the time to train another concertmaster. In skill level, you\u2019re the only one suitable for the seat, so the Dean agreed to make you concertmaster.\u201d<\/p>

It was as Akkad said before, he didn\u2019t want to trap Qi Mu in the college and restrict his development.<\/p>

For many students, the Paris\u2019 National Conservatory of Music was the cradle for their development. It provided them strength and shelter, giving them peace of mind. But, Qi Mu could stand alone. He didn\u2019t need the academy to be his protective wall. Instead, he was the academy\u2019s pride.<\/p>

The school was so good its students could be hired by first-class orchestras directly.<\/p>

Qi Mu nodded and replied in affirmation. Then, he thought, \u201cProfessor, you told me to report tomorrow. So today…?\u201d<\/p>

Akkad grinned. \u201cToday? Today you\u2019re going to play the pieces Farrell taught you. Seven, you can\u2019t be lazy. Teacher is much stricter than that Farrell fellow, so you have to play seriously, ah! If you make even one mistake, I won\u2019t give you any chocolate!\u201d<\/p>

Qi Mu spent the whole day playing the tracks Akkad arranged in addition to several other pieces his mentor randomly selected.\u00a0<\/p>

Knowing his mentor\u2019s temper well, Qi Mu had already practiced a few pieces here and there, though it was just a few. Ultimately, Akkad, who wanted to play the teacher\u2019s card, reluctantly handed over his chocolate. His expression was stiff.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

They chatted about Reed Akkad\u2019s favorite student and how he got first place in the assessment twice in a row.<\/p>

Before Qi Mu stepped out of the gate, he received a text from his mentor. Rows of messages appeared on the flickering mobile phone screen\u2014\u2014<\/p>

\u3010Well, Little Seven. You bought this chocolate, too. It\u2019s good. It tastes the same as the ones I gave you, your teacher approves. But, you have to practice seriously tomorrow morning and, don\u2019t forget, you have to report to the orchestra. Bribing your teacher is useless, you know!\u3011<\/p>

Seeing this tsundere message, Qi Mu burst out laughing.<\/p>

\u201cYes, I know,\u201d he replied.\u00a0<\/p>

He whispered to himself as he walked out of the gate, \u201cTeacher is so cute, he knows very well that\u2019s his chocolate…\u201d<\/p>

The youth\u2019s voice was drowned out by the sound of violins resounding across the university.\u00a0<\/p>

Returning home with a bag of fresh vegetables, Qi Mu had just placed it on the shelf beside the entrance when he received a call from Vienna.<\/p>

Stunned at the name on the screen, Qi Mu connected the call. A hoarse voice spoke from the other end, \u201cI found something, sir.\u201d<\/p>

Qi Mu\u2019s hands clenched into fists. He asked, \u201cWhat did you find?\u201d<\/p>

\u201cI couldn\u2019t find out who bailed Luo Yu Sen out, until I received a clue a few days ago, sir. When I went to check it out…\u201d The man hesitated. \u201cYou might know him, he\u2019s famous in Vienna.\u201d<\/p>

Qi Mu heartstrings pulled tight.<\/p>

Jacques wasn\u2019t a household name in Vienna, but he was still quite famous there.<\/p>

\u201cYes…\u201d Qi Mu said, \u201cAre they from the Vienna Symphony Orchestra?\u201d<\/p>

Qi Mu had no choice… but to believe this fact that had never occurred to him.<\/p>

\u201cPlease continue to look into Luo Yu Sen and Zayev, and the past… What they did in the past year.\u201d After a pause, Qi Mu added, \u201cMoney is not a problem, I\u2019ll wire it to you tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>

After Charles replied with an affirmative, Qi Mu hung up.<\/p>
