One of them paced along the edge for a while, then lowered its head to sniff at the ground near the moat before raising its gaze toward the dense crowd of beastmen on the wall.<\/span><\/p>

The hyena-drake happened to be looking directly in Chen Qi\u2019s direction. Even though he knew it wasn\u2019t truly staring at him, Chen Qi was startled by the greed in its eyes. It felt as though he had already become prey under its claws, about to be torn apart by sharp teeth at any moment.<\/span><\/p>

The hyena-drake\u2019s gaze made Chen Qi deeply uncomfortable, and he averted his eyes slightly to examine the other ironshell-drakes instead.<\/span><\/p>

The ironshell-drakes were positioned farther behind the hyena-drakes, scattered loosely across a wide area, making their numbers appear even greater than they truly were.<\/span><\/p>

Chen Qi\u2019s gaze swept over the sunlight glinting off the armored plates on the creatures. If this batch of ironshell-drakes could be taken down, their armor might be enough to forge all the farming and kitchen tools needed throughout Qi Ze City.<\/span><\/p>

Ayan, unaware that hyena-drakes had once ambushed them here, found it hard to believe that a group of beasts could plan such reconnaissance before a hunt.<\/span><\/p>

The Salt-Water Tribe was the farthest from the forest, and although they had never encountered such a situation before, having lived in Qi Ze City for quite some time, Axu pondered Azhang\u2019s theory seriously.<\/span><\/p>

Beside them lay many split bamboo strips. Acheng had first started weaving to make better paper, but over time he improved his craft. With Chen Qi\u2019s many suggestions, he could now make baskets and other bamboo goods as well. The paper-making work had long been handed over to Azhu and several Salt-Water Tribe females, while Acheng had spent his time crafting bamboo products\u2014the bamboo mats the beastmen slept on last night were made by him.<\/span><\/p>

After hearing Ali\u2019s explanation, Acheng warmly invited the elderly females to sit and handed them bamboo strips, carefully demonstrating how to weave the sieves.<\/span><\/p>

Bo De quietly watched the busy Ali. The sight of that limping figure made him frown in distaste. In truth, he had long forgotten Ali\u2019s existence over the decades.
