After freeing them, Han Changsheng took Shi Laoniu and his family from the Evil Wind Gang. The gang members were so scared, they kept themselves hidden. As long as they didn\u2019t look for trouble, Han Changsheng didn\u2019t bother using his energy to subdue the lowly bandits. He escorted the family back to the Tianyuan villa.<\/span><\/p>

Anxiously waiting at the villa\u2019s courtyard, Yi Laoniu and the others didn\u2019t expect An Yuan and Han Changsheng to return in the time it took to burn a single stick of incense. Not only that, but they brought back everyone who was missing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Yi Laoniu immediately came up to greet Shi Laoniu. Overjoyed, he choked out the words, \u201cOld housekeeper, it was our fortune that the young master returned, and finally came to save you!\u201d<\/span><\/p>

Shi Laoniu wiped tears in his eyes and said, \u201cYes, as someone of old bones, I didn\u2019t think I\u2019d ever see the young master again. I\u2019ve been waiting for more than ten years.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

They wept, holding each other close.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Shi Laoniu\u2019s family huddled together, also wiping away their tears.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Moved, Wang Laoqi said, \u201cI\u2019ll get you all something to eat. Today, Master Yue Peng smashed down the Evil Wind Gang\u2019s door and taught those bastards a lesson! We must have a good meal!\u201d<\/span><\/p>

Han Changsheng was indifferent. He didn\u2019t enjoy seeing the drama of the tears after their reunion, it was sour enough to make his teeth feel like they were rotting. Turning to An Yuan, he noticed that he was in the same state. He wasn\u2019t touched by his old friend\u2019s reunion. Maybe he really lost his memory? These people were just strangers to him.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u201cAlright, come on, don\u2019t waste your time chatting.\u201d Pulling the two away, Han Changsheng grabbed the housekeeper\u2019s collar and said, \u201cCome here. I have something to ask you, with your young master.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

An Yuan followed as Han Changsheng dragged Shi Laoniu into a room. As soon as the door closed, the old housekeeper grabbed An Yuan\u2019s hands with tears in his eyes. \u201cYoung villa master, Uncle Shi is so happy to see that you\u2019re okay.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

An Yuan\u2019s face was expressionless. Pulling his hand away, he motioned for him to find a place to sit. Drawing up a stool, An Yuan sat opposite him. Han Changsheng leaned against a cupboard to listen to their conversation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u201cShi Laoniu,\u201d An Yuan said, \u201cDo you remember what happened fifteen years ago?\u201d<\/span><\/p>

Shi Laoniu\u2019s eyes welled with tears again.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Impatiently, Han Changsheng started picking his nose. Flicking it away, he made the old housekeeper\u2019s teacup explode with a bang, splashing tea all over him. Frightened, Shi Laoniu choked back his tears.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u201cGet to the point, don\u2019t talk nonsense.\u201d Han Changsheng blew his fingers. \u201cWe are in a hurry here, understand?\u201d<\/span><\/p>

Shi Laoniu nodded in terror. An Yuan glanced at him, but didn\u2019t oppose his vile behavior.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u201cFifteen years ago, just as the sun started to rise, I got up to wash when the chickens started crowing. I was about to wake the old villa leader up, but I heard someone screaming, so I ran out to see what was wrong. A dozen masked people filled the yard, striking down everyone they could find.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

\u201cI was scared. I heard in the past that the villains of the Tianning cult wanted to come to Tiandao prefecture, saying they wanted to cause trouble here. I didn\u2019t expect them to actually come. I worried about the old villa leader\u2019s safety so I went to warn him.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

\u201cWhen I opened the door, I saw him lying in a pool of blood. I was horrified. The people of the demonic cult were too fierce to fight off. I wanted to avenge him, but I was too weak to fight, so I found somewhere to hide…\u201d<\/span><\/p>

\u201cDid you see who killed my father?\u201d An Yuan asked.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Shi Laoniu shook his head. \u201cWhen I entered the room, your father was…\u201d He choked, banging his fist on the table. \u201cThat demonic cult, they\u2019re terrible! Everyone blamed me for being timid, but the old villa leader treated me with so much kindness. I should have fought with my life to avenge him, even if I could only take on one thief from the cult! I lived in a degradation, then my family was taken by the evil wind gang, I had to work for them… maybe that was God\u2019s punishment…\u201d<\/span><\/p>

Han Changsheng rolled his eyes. \u201cDon\u2019t talk nonsense! That has nothing to do with the Tianyuan villa!\u201d<\/span><\/p>

Shi Laoniu shrunk back, giving him a timid glance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

And, several of the original Tianyuan villa servants were already dead or gone. It was hard to find anyone else who knew anything in just a few days.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Han Changsheng finally left the room and sat on the steps. He held a <\/span>green foxtail<\/a><\/strong>1<\/sup> in a daze. Who killed Huangfu Tugen? Why would they kill him and blame the Tianning? An Yuan said the murderer stole the first volume of the secret script and the second one was burned. So, did the murder kill for the script? If so…<\/span><\/p>

\u201cWhat are you thinking about?\u201d A voice asked from behind him.<\/span><\/p>

Shocked, Han Changsheng blurted, \u201cI was thinking about the secret scr\u2026 Urrr, wondering who the killer was.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

An Yuan\u2019s face was scornful. The look on his face definitely said, \u201cDon\u2019t you dare even try useless attempts at escaping me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

Seeing his pinched expression, Han Changsheng almost spat blood. When An Yuan became Yue Peng\u2019s apprentice, he was very cute, well-behaved, and delightful. <\/span>Why is it that his senses of propriety, justice, integrity, honor, and even filial piety and fraternal duty are eaten by dogs whenever he deals with me? How is it fair that he would randomly threaten his Shifu? Was that right? It was as if he was someone else\u2019s apprentice!<\/span><\/i><\/p>

An Yuan turned to walk around him. Suddenly, his shoulder was forced back. He staggered, his back hitting a post. Both Han Changsheng\u2019s arms locked at his side, trapping him there.<\/span><\/p>

Seeing his face so close, An Yuan was stunned to silence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Flashing an evil smile, Han Changsheng said, \u201cMy life and death are in your hands?\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Releasing one of his hands, Han Changsheng raised An Yuan\u2019s jaw. Blowing a breath toward his neck to prove he could slit his throat at any time, Han Changsheng went on, \u201cYour life is also in my hands. But, I will not kill you, I will not hurt you. Good apprentice, your master cherishes you so much, to the point of pain<\/span>2<\/sup>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

An Yuan was so shocked he forgot to resist.<\/span><\/p>

Taking back his hand, Han Changsheng looked at his dejected appearance. He was proud.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Finally, he recovered some lost ground. It was time for the Dog Lord to remember that Lao Zi was playing meek because of his magnanimity. <\/span>Don\u2019t think you\u2019re better than Lao Zi. Humph!<\/span><\/i><\/p>

Han Changsheng swaggered away, and An Yuan looked on as he left. His eyes were dark, rich with color. After a long time, he finally closed his eyes and turned to leave.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

In an instant, the sun sunk past the horizon, spreading darkness over the land. They were busy for two days but discovered nothing new. They remained in the Tianyuan villa and planned to search for clues the next day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

An Yuan was tired. Blowing out his candles, he went to bed early.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Soon, all the candles in the village had been blown out. Only two people stood on duty outside the village.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

In the darkness, a figure sneaked towards An Yuan\u2019s room. A small pipe punctured the window paper, and wisps of white smoke filtered from it.<\/span><\/p>

An Yuan laid in bed, motionless and drowsy.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

A moment later, someone pushed open the door to his bedroom, and a shadow crept inside. When he reached the bedside, the man whispered, \u201cYoung villa master?\u201d<\/span><\/p>

Only the sound of gentle breaths filled the room.<\/span><\/p>

The shadow stood by the bed for a long time. Then, he drew a dagger from his sleeve and forced it down on An Yuan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u201cAh!\u201d A scream filled the air, breaking the silence of the Tianyuan villa.<\/span><\/p>

A candle by the bed flickered back to life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Sitting up in his bed, An Yuan watched as Shi Laoniu fell to his knees. His face was cold and white, and sweat poured over him like rain. The dagger fell to the ground, his arm hanging at a strange angle. An Yuan had just sliced open his arm.<\/span><\/p>

However, An Yuan\u2019s expression was still light, as if he had expected the attack. Getting out of bed, he opened up the doors and windows to let out the daze smoke <\/span>3<\/sup><\/span> that was inside the room out. To trick Shi Laoniu, he didn\u2019t hold his breath. Instead, he used his internal power to force the smoke out of his body, consuming his Qi.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

After opening his window, An Yuan said, \u201cCome out.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

A figure jumped into the beam of light from the candle and touched his nose. \u201cYou noticed it too?\u201d<\/span><\/p>

An Yuan looked back at Han Changsheng but didn\u2019t say a word. He sat down at his table, looking at Shi Laoniu. The man knelt on the ground with pain and fear written in his eyes. Coldly, An Yuan said, \u201cNow, start again. Tell me exactly what happened fifteen years ago.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Not sure if it exists in real life as an actual incense stick, but a lot of chemicals and gaseous drugs can in fact be used to daze people.
